Stayed here for the Belgian Grand Prix and was really pleased with our choice since it was only about a 35 minute drive to the track in Spa each day and is right by the motorway.
This Ibis used to be an Etap, and as with most hotels in this chain, the rooms are fairly minimalist, but does the job for a one or two night stay. The room we stayed in was a bit more modern than some that I've stayed in, and the bed was pretty comfortable (although we only had one small pillow each to start with so asked for another couple). As well as being ensuite (with a really nice shower I have to say) there was also a small flat screen TV in the room which had BBC1 which was nice for us Brits. The wifi was also free in the room, which was an unexpected bonus, as you tend to have to pay at cheaper hotels like this. If I had one criticism, it would be that there is no storage space in the room, although I guess most people aren't there long enough to unpack.
The people at reception were very friendly and helpful and its worth pointing out that its manned 24 hours a day which I think is good. (We stayed at an Ibis budget in Dunkirk earlier in our trip and this was unmanned from 9 p.m. so you had to use the credit card you paid with in the automated check in). Worth pointing out that you can buy small cans of beer from reception for 2 euros !
The hotel isn't in the most scenic area as its bang in the middle of an industrial estate. There is a McDonalds a few minutes away - turn right out of the hotel, follow the road round under the motorway bridge then bear left and its right in front of you. Our favourite place, however, was the China Wok, whch was next to the big supermarket round the corner - turn left out of the hotel and walk down to the main road and turn left and its just a bit further up the road. The China Wok did an all-you-can eat buffet and the food was great. You can even choose your own dish from the fresh ingredients available and have the chef cook it up in front of you. But the best bit was that for a few euros extra you could have unlimted drinks, including beer and wine - you just went up and helped yourself from the fridge ! It was only around 20 euros all in during the week and a bit extra on weekends. We went to this place twice in three nights !
