“Was so nice, we returned a week later”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 April 2014

I was somewhat skeptical of this place as the online booking sites described it as attached to a gas station.

Fear not! It is above the station and is cleverly disguised by the design. The entire property is immaculate and even with moderate traffic in and out is very quiet.

The rooms are not the biggest but are very clean and suffice for what they are meant for, sleeping. The bed is comfortable and the bath room more than adequate. Again, it is very quiet.

Breakfast is served downstairs next to the hotel registration desk,. Space is good, food is fresh and plentiful. Staff is very helpful and though you might encounter someone who does not speak English, they will do their best to communicate with you and you will be taken care of, unlike in a country that is close by. Nes-ce pas?

This hotel is perfect for touring the Bastogne area WW2 museums, battlefields and cemetaries.

A short walking distance north of the hotel, there are enough restaurants, cafes and other eateries to keep you fed for weeks w/o repeating an establishment.

There is a reason this place is rated number one in Bastogne. It is clean, quiet, friendly and a good value for the money.

This Hotel lived up to the positive reviews from other travellers.

The female receptionist was very friendly and welcoming with great customer service at breakfast.

The room was very modern, best air conditioning I've experienced in a hotel.

Mini fridge provided for personal use, Wi-Fi and bottled water supplied.

Rooms are not particularly spacious - however a reasonable size

Stayed 4 nights with friends visiting the Ardennes . Friendly welcome , clean, modern well equipped rooms and a good breakfast. The staff were happy for us to buy early cold evening beers to drink in the " mini- cafe " from the mini- mart and even provided glasses !

A very positive experience and I would rate La Merceny highly .

This hotel is close to everything. You can walk to most attractions. It is somewhat different in how you get into the hotel, but the rooms were nice and clean and very reasonable. I would not add the breakfast because for 8€ it would be cheaper to eat at the little store right next to the hotel. It looks like a convenience store but offers just about everything you might need. Overall, a good experience.

A near town centre hotel located by a roundabout and over a filling station and convenience store. It has only the most basic of catering facilities - a tiny café at the side of the convenience store.

What the establishment lacks in kerb appeal it more than makes up for in other key respects. The room was furnished and equipped to a high standard. Cleanliness was first rate. The hotel free Wi-Fi is one of the most powerful connections I have ever had. Free guest parking directly outside the hotel in the garage forecourt. Excellent value at €59 per night for a double room. The whole ambience is both modern and utilitarian. It is situated about a 5 minute walk from the town centre where there are numerous cafes, bars and restaurants. It is about a 25 minute walk from the Bastogne War Museum which is a must visit for anyone interested in the Battle of the Bulge (1944).

Possibly not a place I would recommend for a romantic weekend, but fine for all other purposes.

Stayed one night during a business trip - The hotel is located some 300m from the main square of Bastogne within a service station. The room is small and compact but well beats many well known brands on the boutique hotel sector. The bed was comfortable, overall cleanliness impeccable as well as the service. One little note on the very little spoken english did not one bit diminish visiting this great place. After this visit I now know what I will demand from hotels that are five times more expensive than the Merceny. Excellent price quality ratio.

Room Tip: Try to avoid arriving very late.

The rooms have averything you need. Therainshower with handshower are very convenient. There is small window in the roomdoor allowing light in the room at night. If one does want to have complete darkness, one can close the door between the entrance & the sleeping corner. There is also a light automatically switched on when one comes into the room, or when you go to the toilet at night. There are 2 locations where you can put your suitecase. There are hangers for coats. The TV is haging in the front of the middle of the bed. For me the whole concept of the location is very well designed. Soap, bad/body lotion , haircap, shoeshine .. all is available. There is even a safe & a fridge available and also a watercooker + coffee/tea/milk. Also note the quiteness of the room . This is impressive. The 8 rooms are all available on the first floor ( there is no elevator). At the ground floor you have a modern grosery where one can find everything .. so if you still want to eat or drink at night .. you can buy it downstaires. Open from 6 am till 10 pm. For this all,we paid 59Euro. If you want breakfast, there is an additional charge of 8Euro/pers. The location is also good. One can park the car in front of the hotel and walk to the town center. Certainly a place we will return.

Room Tip: all 8 roomd have the same outlook - so no preference. Not sure if all roomd have WIFI ( they have in...
