Stayed only for one night. Clean and spacious hotel room with a lot of chocolates. The Breakfast was ok, expected better for a 4 star. Best Werstern was closed to the city center.Overall was a good hotel.

Improvements:
- No Lunch menu card. The staff could eventually make salad but overcharged.
- room can not be locked (arrived late and had stayed at the bar till late, once i came in the room the door could not be locked, and nobody was available at the reception)
- more fitness equipments to supply (there are only treadmills and bicycle), although there is a room to put another gym materials.

If you are looking for a pleasant enough hotel in Aalst - decent rooms (excellent shower!), small but more than adequate fitness room (3 pieces of good equipment), friendly staff and ok breakfast - this is a good place for you. If you are on a business trip or otherwise need Internet - well, forget about this place. The Internet in the room barely worked and the computer lobby wasn't much better. The staff also seemed to indicate that they knew that the Internet was unbearable (lots of rolling of the eyes), but it's not up to them to install a decent (and undoubtedly hardly expensive) wi-fi system.

My husband & I stayed here as part of a group tour. I note the debate here as to whether this hotel is a 3- or 4-star hotel. Rather than debate the point, I can tell you it was an ideal place for a tour group to stay as an alternative to Brussels, Bruge or Ghent. Our room was clean -- bath had plenty of hot water and was spotless. Breakfast was buffet-style, with a great variety of food, both hot and cold. Our group was also treated to an evening meal of good food, topped off by our chef presenting us with a song. (We tried to recruit him for our bass section, but he said he was needed in the kitchen.) There are other dining alternatives to the hotel -- the main square is close by and the staff provided us with a map showing local restaurants.

The staff couldn't have been nicer. There was a problem with the air conditioning in our room and they worked to resolve it. Everyone spoke English well and were very attentive to our needs.

In short, while the central A/C needs work (we weren't the only ones with a problem), I couldn't find fault with anything else. Kudos to the staff for taking good care of our group.

The Keizerhof is a reasonable business hotel in Aalst. It is clean with generous sized rooms. The bar is friendly with a couple of really good barman who add local flavour. The hotel is in the centre of Aalst near some nice restauarants (recommend 'so' which is 5 minutes walk away - excellent).
Main positives include good breakfast, rooms, free internet, location and general good quality of hotel.
Only real drawback is small fitness room which on trying twice (earlier than officially stated 7am opening times) was already full on the three training options. If you want to run there is a park ony 1.5k away which is nice.

This is a good little hotel in Aalst which is a pleasant little town. I felt the room was clean and adequate with a firm bed and a good bathroom. I did not take an evening meal but the breakfast was pretty good. I found this a good alternative to staying in central Brussels with good access to Ghent and Brugge.

This neat and tidy little Best Western looks like a recent refurbishment, and they did a good job. Our twin room was a comfortable size, the bathroom included. Shower hot and strong, a large TV, crisp linen on the firm mattresses.

Breakfast was modest, a selection of pastries, fruits, cereals, bread, bacon, scrambled eggs, with tea, coffee and hot chocolate served with a smile.

Internet connection cost €5.00 for an hour which seems a bit punitive in these modern times, however considering the reasonable price for these quality rooms, it did not break the bank. We got our rooms for far less than the €140-€200 I have seen quoted.

Although a fine place to stay, you could not call it a 4-star, as that implies a level of service and amenities that were not present here.

Off street parking was a bonus. There was a sauna and gym, which I did not have the time to review.
