We called in this restaurant for a quick coffee and waffle, both were great. It is a lovely restaurant with helpful, friendly staff and in a perfect location.

This restaurant is located in the most beautiful part of Ghent. The restaurant has a beautiful interior in an amazing old building. But the food, we tried the special sea food dish, was at best average. I've asked for a nice white whine to fit the main course and they didn't understand (Dutch is my native laguage). The staff was not aware what a pregent woman could have from the menu. So wouldn't recommend it.

We returned to this restaurant with son Paul and D in L Tina who had not been to Belgium before, and were not disappointed. Boss lady Ilse gave us a great welcome, as did the rest of the staff. A new speciality of the restaurant was the fish fondue, We had great fun cooking the fish, prawns and mussels and the drinking the resultant fish stew. For non fish lovers the local beef stew was amazingly tender and tasty. However there is a comprehensive menu to suit all tastes. Booking is essential for Dinner at this popular venue

We visited this restaurant for lunch on a Sunday, attracted by the TripAdvisor reviews. We sat in the outdoors area, which is actually a large room closed on three sides, with a canvas roof, and were immediately enveloped by cigarette smoke. The service was slow and the food average. Perhaps the indoor restaurant offers another experience but as far as we are concerned, we will not be going back.

The outdoor seating is less formal than the indoor dining room, which is elegant. Definitely order some moules and frites (mussels and fries). One order is enough for 3 people. Also try the traditional chicken stew from Ghent.
