We stayed at the De Luxe room with a great walk-in closet. The room was spacious and clean. Staff very helpful and friendly. Early check-in was no problem.
Location is perfect, in the center of the city and close to all sights.
I can highly recommend this hotel for a short citytrip.

A pleasant surprise! Booked the morning of arrival. Last second visit. Both hotel and Gent worth the trip. The room was not special but clean and had all we needed at a fair price. Given the location I would have expected to pay more. Some of Gent's main attractions are out the front door. Lovely library where you can get free WIFI and a beer What a great combo. The bar is friendly and full of football (soccer) fans. We booked w/o breakfast . A nice option.

stayed here for business, and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. It is mostly close to everywhere, but the traffic in Ghent can be horrendous so you are better off walking or biking.

the rooms were very nice and the bathrooms clean and sanitized.

all in all, a great place to stay at!

Very good welcome at reception upon our arrival and the staff were all excellent throughout our stay. We had an unpleasant night in the Karel V suite on the Sunday. The room is on the first floor and there was a lot of street noise until 0300 hrs in the morning to such an extent that the next day I asked to be moved at my own expense to a smaller room(they did compensate me in the end). This was done immediately and the deluxe room provided was much quieter and perfectly adequate. My advice would be to avoid the Karel Suite at all costs it is located in the wrong part of the hotel to offer any value. Also surely this hotel should offer free wifi if the Ibis chain seem able to do so. I don't think there is an awful lot to see in Gent itself, as a tourist you may wish to make it a day trip from somewhere else. However the Belfort is a reliable option for a short stay.

Room Tip: Avoid the Karel V suite.

We stayed at the GH Gent Belford in late April. We arrived via train and took the bus to the city centre. Had some difficulty finding the hotel. We booked via Booking.Com and appear to have been put in an older part of the hotel as the room we were staying in nowhere nearly resembled the hotel photo. Even so the room was comfortable enough, there was a selection of drinks in the mini-bar (gratis) and the breakfast available in the breakfast room was most generous.
