“Best option for Belgium chocolates”

We picked up chocolates in 3 spots - this one in Ghent and 2 in Brusse. This one was by far the best option of the 3 if you like dark chocolate and intense flavoring. Flavoring (chili pepper, raspberry, etc) was a bit light for my tastes (I'm a Moonstruck Chocolates addict as a reference point) but the best of what we brought back from Belgium based on a tasting trial over multiple days - tasting 2 of each with each bottle of wine after dinner when we got back to the US.

The host whom I was staying with during my stay in Ghent recommended this chocolate shop. It's definitely a great recommendation because the chocolates are amazing, fresh and original! Nicolas Vanaise, the chocolatier, takes pride in every piece of chocolate he makes. What's great is that the chocolates are not very expensive, and you'll have a wide range of chocolates to choose from! Don't miss this place.

A little bit hidden in the Walpoortstraat in Gent you'll find the most beautiful pieces of chocolate you're probably going to encounter in all of Belgium. You have to go inside the shop to really find out what YUZU is all about, because the shop window is a little bit empty and doesn't show, like all the other shops, chocolates for display.
The chocolates are pure art and taste exceptional. Inspired by japanese cuisine, Nicolas Vanaise (who also serves most of the customers), creates, all by himself, wholly different pieces of chocolate that are also on the cheaper side of the gentian premium sweets. Japanese pottery and a wide range of teas make it a must visit shop for gent.

Such an amazing range of asian inspired flavours! Go early as some sell out very quickly. If you go to Gent you have to call in here!
