“What a pleasant surprise”
Reviewed 14 October 2013

Very, very cosy interior and great vibe.
The food is "honest" and down to earth, very simple, not pretentious, but high quality, lots of taste and you hear yourself saying mmmmm all the time.
I can't recommend it enough.

We had scallops, gnocchi, pork and desert. More than enough.

“different and excellent”
Reviewed 19 September 2013

I read an article mentioning this place and made the effort to drive to Ghent for a dinner there, don't regret it at all. Since it is not fancy at all but more a small bistro style venue dressing up is not necessary. there is only one menue (4 courses a 45 euros plus option for 5th plus 10) which is very fair for what you get. We had a Simmenthaler-cattle beef tartare wrapped in a kohlarabi canneloni which was DELICIOUS! then special mussels followed by a genius creation of Zottegemse chicken with a mix of cauliflower and roasted hazelnuts and mashed whatever. This was a taste revelation ! Congrats to the chef, one of the best dishes I ever tasted! one of those you have maybe a couple times a year even if you eat out a lot.
Service was nice and friendly too, for me a must next time I am there.
there is only 4 wines white and red each, good but not extraordinary, which means it doesn't kill the taste of food and reasonably priced.
took a couple pics...DON'T FORGET TO Make a reservation, there are only 6 tables I think.
According to the waiter the menue changes every 2-3 weeks...
Tipp: The Design B+B Logidenri is only 100 yards away and great, 5-min walk to the cathedral.

“A Gem in Ghent”
Reviewed 2 September 2013 via mobile

I highly recommend this restaurant. Set menu utilizing local ingredients, executed beautifully. The staff was wonderful and friendly. Our waitress even made some recommendations for our next leg in Antwerp and told us about the surrounding neighborhood. Call and make a reservation; you will not be disappointed unless you are a super picky eater then the set menu concept is not for you. This was a great experience and a very neat way to expererience Belgium food. They even offered cocktails utilizing Belguim ingredients and had a Belguim sparkling wine on the menu.

“One of the best restaurants in Ghent”
Reviewed 23 August 2013

Great atmosphere. Open kitchen, cooks entering into the restaurant serving with a little word, mixed crowd of business, families and travellers. A reservation is recommended. The restaurant is small. Claustrophobic people should go to the "packhuis" to eat an overcharged oyster.
One disadvantage is that they only serve one menu. Difficult eaters might get stressed...

“Delicious set menu and great wine recommendation”
Reviewed 31 July 2013

I enjoyed the set menu experience. All the dishes showed great attention to detail, service was pretty good, and the wine recommendation we got was just superb.
A bit of a ways out of the main thoroughfare but worth a trip.
