I had reservation with them last weeks but I did not show up, I did not cancel it because it was non refundable so I thought it wont matter, but then they charged me for the city tax few days ago when I was never even there and when I asked about it, they said that they did not check good if I wasn't there, what kinds of hotel that doesn't know if their tenants are check in or not and there was no apology whatsoever. If they had done their job right, then this wouldn't have happened.

Due to traffic delays, we arrived at 23.10, to find all the hotel reception building closed, locked up and in total darkness. No night porter, nothing. It did say in the small print about 23.00 check-in time. We had booked because it had a car park, however we entered and left the car park with no security. If we had locked outselves out of the room, or had an emergency, no staff on site, none available. nighmare. If you are travelling and might be delayed, dont risk it

Room Tip: as we did not get a room - cannot comment, rooms were in a seperate building

Decent standard accommodation with a PROPER bathroom. Rooms open direct to outside via a small porch. Car parking outside the window. Pleasant room, good Wi-Fi.

On the outskirts of town, with secure parking.

TV was supposed to have BBC1, BBC2 and BBC World but these channels, listed on a card, were missing from the TV. All the European channels were there. They had BBC1 on in the restaurant, when I mentioned to the receptionist that ours weren't working she said, "well mine are working!"

Breakfast was good, with a good choice of items.

We had a meal in the restaurant, which was also quite pleasant although a little odd. We ordered steak and chips, and were brought 2 bread rolls, and 2 glasses with some julienne cucumber sticks and a blob of mayonnaise. Then after a bit of a wait the waitress came with our meals, and whisked the bread away. So I asked for the bread back, so we could eat it with our meal. "That was your starter", she said!

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms are handy for the car!

I choose this as a reasonably-priced hotel to stay after visiting Ghent; I was looking for a place easy to reach with the car and with good parking. It seems there are no convenient public transport connection from this hotel (I did not check after arriving, just thought so based on hotel description), so upon arrival to Ghent I headed to Park and Ride parking at Gentbrugge and then caught the tramway to the city center (beware, you have to purchase your ticket in a newspaper shop - BTW if you happened to be on the same parking, there is such a shop about 200 metres away).
The Campanile is just a typical Campanile hotel. The building has 2 floors (i.e. ground floor and 1st floor) and a large parking. With a bit of luck you can park your car 2 metres from the door of your room. The rooms are quite small but sufficient. Very clean. All is in good working order. WiFi is free and works well.
You can drive in to the hotel parking at any time. To get out through the main gate you need to get a code from the reception. The reception is open until 11 pm. They told me that afterwards one can drive out by another gate.
The only small minus I could notice is that the receptionist is perhaps too much engaged in helping in the restaurant, so that often you have to wait at the reception or even you wonder where the receptionist can be. It is a but irritating when e.g. you wait for your exit code to the gate. However, I do not blame the receptionists for that - it is probably the requirement from their managers that they help out elsewhere, and not only sit at the reception. They were all friendly and competent.
And, keep your door card away from your mobile phone. Mine got inactivated due to this. Luckily it happened during the reception opening times. I wonder what I would have done if it was after 11 pm?

This Campinale had blistering fast WiFi, 30M up and down... Chief selling point. No need to worry about poor evening meal service at weekends, there is no service. Holiday Inn has an attached restaurant 300 metre or so away which was good with strangled WiFi of 512k. Breakfast was good at the Campinale with real coffee beans going into the coffee machine not syrup. No complaints except pricy. Handy for the motorway when travelling across Europe. Car park was free with controlled entry and exit.

A motel next to the highway E40 - E 17 with a restaurant. There is free parking a wifi. The rooms are good but basic.
There is breakfast served

Take another hotel in the centre if you want to visit Ghent,

As it is a budget motel we didn't expect a lot but it was cheap & cheerful. On the bad side a factory next door works all night & it does get noisy if you are in a back room. We dined at the restaurant on our first night which was not a good experience with bad service & an inedible veal escalope, very pricey for what you get. Breakfast was good as it is in all Campaniles but a tad expensive.

Room Tip: Take a front room.
