The city museum is based in a number of older buildings with some contemporary additions. They provide lockers to store back backs, etc.
While they provided a set of English translations, they covered a tiny number of exhibits. Many other European museums have 4 to 5 languages at each case. I suggest they do the same.
The STAM is well worth a two hour visit. They have both historical and fairly modern exhibits. If you are fluent only in English, you will spend less time here.
