Located on the top floor of an artist's gorgeous home, At Genesis is a beautiful, well-kept, clean, and wonderfully unique B&B. It is located in the heart of the quintessentially-European Patershol district, an idyllic neighborhood full of quiet old streets, friendly artists and artisans, galleries and storefronts laced with vines, and delicious cafes and restaurants. Thankfully the B&B is nestled just outside of the high-traffic Graslei area, while absolutely everything is still within 1-10 minutes walking distance, and you are also a few steps from the canals. I stayed for 5 nights in the nicely-decorated Blue Room, which has beautiful floorboards and old wooden beams, soft beds, a kitchen area, a dining table, a nice bathroom with shower, and a charming view of the rooftops and cobblestoned street below. Gaby herself is a wonderful proprietor and very flexible. She provides a map of the area, is available for recommendations or chatting, and stocks the room's kitchen with eggs, meats, cheeses, juice, milk, butter, jam -- and she delivers freshly-baked bread to your door each morning! This one-of-a-kind B&B is an example of Gent's enchanting atmosphere.
