The visit to this restaurant was disappointing for various reasons. The spareribs are supposed to be the speciality of the house were not served as one would expect: hot and crispy. The second serving (spareribs à volonté) in particular was lukewarm and I got the impression that the ribs came directly out of the freezer and were not given the proper time on the grill: the inside was still cold and left the white fat clearly visible. The five sauces served missed punch and the BBQ sauce was nobody's favorite as the large bottles in which it was served were filled to the top and moved as such from one table to the other.
The bottle of red house wine came opened without any indication on its content with a quality far below the average table wine. The cost to the restaurant for this wine could not be more than one fifth of the price we paid for it. A house wine should be selected by the chef and an indication on how we wants to treat his customers.
When paying the credit card we wanted to use was refused even though the card was clearly indicated on the front door.
There are definitely better places to eat spareribs in Ghent!
