We had not made reservations and we were lucky to get one of 2 remaining tables for 2.
The first thing we noticed when entering the restaurant was the very friendly and welcoming staff and the big disco ball hanging from the sealing... good times!
Although you can eat a là carte, it is clear that the restaurant works on a menu basis.
You can opt for a 5 or a 7 "tastings" menu, meaning that you will be served 5 or 7 different (small) dishes from the menu. The great thing is that you don't know what you are going to get! You can indicate however if there is something on the menu that you really like or that you really don't like (maximum 1 dish each).
So if you don't like surprises or if you are not open to new tastes, this may not be the place for you...
We selected the 5 tastings menu and definitely wanted the scallops, there were no dishes that we didn't like. Now the fun part started, we were offered some amazing and surprising dishes (many of them vegetarian) but each one a little piece of art in itself. The tempura of dill with a cooled, soft cauliflower creme was simply amazing!
We ended up receiving 6 dishes instead of 5 (no extra charge) and we left feeling this was a place worth visiting again.
Note that the restaurant can get a bit loud once it is full and people had a few drinks, but it didn't bother me too much.
