Stayed here to watch the Ronde Van Vlaanderen bike race. Lovely town with lots of places to eat and a very pretty town centre. Make sure you try a few of the Belgian beers!

Ghent city centre is beautiful, probably same than Bruges. People is very friendly and there are plenty of art shops, museums, etc. The trip on the river is very nice, you can see the city from the very calm canals. There are private boats which include dinner, for a special occasion is perfect.
The city is amazing and if you are in Bruges, this is a must. (Gent does not have an h in the local language..... just in case!)

Ghent City Center is at least equal to, if not better than, the city center of Bruges. The largely pedestrian center is great for exploring on foot, and there is much to see here - architecture, museums, canals, castle, etc.

The scenery is great. Its better than Brugge and much quieter. The churches are magnificent and the canals are great. Its a very clean town and very friendly people. Did not do the boat ride. The only thing is the parking. Try and find a park and ride to get into town. Do some research before you go. The max parking in the town is 3 hours. Its not enough. Good places to eat. If you know Belgium then you will know the shop HEMA. Its a great shop with a restaurant in most, i think. They are very reasonable in price and the food is good. You get what you pay for, but for a meal you will pay around five euro's. Great price and good food. The town warrants another visit.
