A beautiful historic town with an historic church a the centre of Ghent life in the early days.
It looks grandly over the town centre that was built around it and people flock to this church to this day to give thanks for our freedom.

[Dear,
First of all this odd message. It's strange that your e-mail invitation doesn't allow a reply, so no contact possible. This is the only possibility! see my remark:

I like to comment the St. Nicolaschurch in Gent. It seems that this monument does not exist on your list “No results matched your search term”, but why should this be necessary? Isn’t it not an interesting fact that we introduce new suggestions?

Now about the church: beautyful gothic church, renovated over more than 70 years. Interesting paintings on St. Nicolas, saver of the children, as well as statues, 2 remarkable organs. Concerts (organ a.o.). In the very heart of the medieval city, near cathedral, town hall, belfry ...

but was closed at 19:00 and I could not walk in.
My recommendation: in the summer please have longer visiting hours.
Maybe next time

Every other weekend there is a nice, not too large though, arts and antique market in part of this church that they are still renovating. If going on Sunday morning, you cannot enter the renovated part of the church.

This church was a treat. Very quiet and peaceful and not too many people around
We walked around and enjoyed the spiritual ambience and then sat for a bit.

Beautiful interiors and the stained glass windows were spectacular.. Catching the sunlight perfectly.

We recommend this church to everyone to spend a quiet, peaceful moment.
