Situated on a pleasant square directly in front of the station, this is ideal if you want a decent hotel in such a location. Bearing this in mind, it is a tram journey to the old town. However, trams run often and are relatively inexpensive. The Castel is also close to a very good, reasonably priced restaurant (The Rambler).
Rooms are very clean, with comfortable beds and tea/coffee making facilities (however, fridges don't work!). Staff are both helpful and friendly.
After the first night, however, I had to ask to change room as there was a lot of noise from the street café/bar below until the small hours (resuming again in the morning at breakfast-time): it was impossible to sleep with the window open. The twin-bedded room (as opposed to double bedded) to the rear was considerably quieter and, for me, much more suitable for a second night's sleep.
Nothing spectacular but a perfectly acceptable family-run hotel. Well-worth considering.More
