We enjoyed a very informative and entertaining tour of the historic centre of Ghent.
The tour was very easy to book over the internet and the meeting point to set off was very central. The lovely guide was there waiting for us, even though we were a little early. She could not have been more interested in the people she was showing round and was very knowledgable about Ghent and the history of the city.
The tour took about an hour and a half and visited most of the important sites in Ghent. Easy walking as Ghent is mainly flat but watch out for the bikes and the trams.

We thoroughly enjoyed our free iTour of Ghent with a lovely lady guide (forgotten her name, unfortunately). She was very informative and obviously enjoyed her town and sharing it with us. Ghent, while probably not as picturesque as Bruges, is smaller with fewer tourists. But a real gem.

Run by local guides, maximum group size 20, no fee but donations invited on basis of degree of satisfaction. We met our guide, Ilse, on the steps of the theatre on Sint-Baafsplein. Our group comprised 8 English, 8 Dutch & 4 American. Ilse's command of English was very good, and her bubbly personality and passion for her city made her informative, and often amusing account most memorable. The 1½ hour tour was just right, and at a comfortable pace. I had been to Gent previously, and done a self-guided walking tour, but iTours really brought the place and its history alive.

Nick was a great tourguide, i really enjoyed his walking tour a few weeks ago on a saturday. We were with a very small group so it pretty much was a private tour with a lot of interaction. He told great and interesting stories about Gent and showed some cool spots i hadn't seen before while exploring the city on my own. He also gave great recommendations on where to rent a boat, where to eat nice dinner and where to find a local brewery of Gent. I met with him later to have a drink and he even showed me some more of the city. So it was a great time! When you're in Gent i definitely recommend going on a tour with Itours and with Nick, great way to explore the city and get some handy information for the rest of your visit. The tour is on personal valuation and budget based. So you don't have to pay anything before the tour and at the end you can decide what you thought it's worth and what you can afford. I defnitely gave him a nice tip cause it was definitely worth it!

My parents in law and I took the iTour last week and it was definitely a great choice! We were running late and the tour guide (Nick) was so kind to wait for us for 12min (thank you!) and then he showed us the most beautiful spots in Gent and told us many interesting stories related to the sites we were visiting. Definitely an exceptionally engaging tour! There's no fee for the tour, but you're encouraged to tip (well worth it!).
