Not only is the food very tastfull, prices are very democratic. We had a special Japanese menu and it was all very good. We also enjoyed the concept and the location is good, with a parking in the same building, you ev en don't have to come out.

We enjoyed a very well cooked, imaginative dinner there last week. Nothing 'extraordinary' but fresh, good quality ingredients, originally accompanied and presented. I love the new setting of the restaurant, in an 'arty' place off a main boulevard. Look at the back of the restaurant to see what I mean! The service is very friendly and the value for money excellent.

First of all they moved to a new location : Gustaaf Callierlaan 233 which is nice but a little "cold".
You can have a starter and main course for 15EUR, which really is a bargain. Lunch for 2 with coffee and a glass of wine would cost you 45 to 50EUR. There is the choice between 3 starters and 3 main courses.
The menu has other choices but then you pay double.
People are extremely friendly and the food is prepared with excellent ingredients. Most choices have a sort of "Italian touch". Starting with a bit of bread and olive oil. Where the olive oil was quite ordinary. We had the aubergine salad and the Scottish salmon as a starter. The first was really tasteful the second could benefit from some extra vinegrette.
For main course we had the some pork tenderloin with ratatouille. Excellent quality of meat and vegetables but no special taste.
I am sure Jour de fête has a lot of potential but some special preparations would be appreciated.

Jour de Fête has relocated to a new and bigger place in Ghent. If you're looking for a very price/quality business lunch, Jour de Fête is the place to be! If the weather is good, try the terrace!

What can I say? Might lack a little bit of finesse but it's alwaws a memorable night out. Interior, service, quality and wine top notch. Just needs a bit of extra subtlety to be excellent. Who knows...soon maybe!
