We had a wonderful week-end at Budock Vean. The staff were so good and attentive, and treated our 14 year old son as a young man! We walked, swam, hot tubbed (Fab) played tennis, and our meal in the restaurant was divine. I can't recommend the health spa enough had a lovely Elemis facial, one couldn't stay at the Hotel without having a treat in the beauty salon. Really didn't wish the weekend to finish.

Thank you

Excellent, traditional hotel. Great base for visiting gardens/coast in the area. Short walk through hotel garden to private riverside jetty. Attentive staff, great service. Lovely conservatory and lounges. Superb food and service in the restaurant with live piano player most nights. Rooms overlooking the ninth hole were spacious. We made use of the indoor pool and spa treatments. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Ideal for the more discerning guest.

If you play golf then it's very good value as golf is free and it's a testing 9 hole course kept in excellent condition. The food is very good with fantastic Cornish cream teas. Rooms are OK but could do with some updating. Service excellent and friendly.

We decided to spend a week here having spent 3 days on a previous trip to Cornwall. We had been touring and Budock Vean was easily a haven in a desert of mediocre bed and breakfasts. We were not disappointed the second time around. Budock Vean is perfect if you want a relaxing break with golf and spa facilities. The restaurant is superb with excellent quality food and wine and attentive and friendly service. We did find the volume of food a little too much and after 3 nights felt that we were seriously overeating and stopped having the full menu even though we had paid for it. It would be nice to be able to book a lighter (and cheaper) menu as an alternative.

We recommend the afternoon boat trip from Budock Vean and also a trip over to Helford. The hotel provided a little map which we used to do a fantastic walk up through Manaccan to St Anthony's Head and back along the coast to Helford. There is a good cafe in Manaccan called South Cafe which is highly recommended although it seems to be shut half the week.
