We stayed at this hotel as a stop-over at the beginning and at the end of our main holiday.
Being our first ever stay in a proper hotel, I suppose we may have been overwhelmed but, in fairness, it was wonderful and we loved it.
We stayed here in early June with the Little Trains of Austria tour run by Leger, myself (56), my wife (51), our daughter (26) & my sister (61) and had 2 rooms.
The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful (despite some tired Brit's getting tetchy about using key cards, etc).
The rooms were clean, spacious and provided the usual amenities for making tea/coffee, etc, with cold store well stocked in the rooms.
The bed was huge (to us) and was luxurious. We wanted to bring it back with us, but it would have filled our bedroom at home. The TV was huge (again, to us) and had great reception and was perfect for watching the first England World Cup game in bed - yep, I stayed awake for that.
The bathroom area was amazing. Fully tiled, lovely hot shower and thoroughly clean.
Our room faced the Stella Artois brewery and it seemed like heaven to wake up in the morning, open the window and see every man's dream right in front of you. I tried the taps in the bathroom but, alas, only water came out.
The bar and lounge areas are very spacious and comfortable, with TV's on the wall. The ambiance seemed really nice in the evening when a few locals pop in or guests amble down to relax.
The meals we found were excellent and well cooked. The serving staff were very efficient and even the manager was helping out (seeing as a coach load of tired and hungry Brits had just arrived). The atmosphere was friendly and enjoyable.
The manager was very chatty and friendly. He seemed to be on top of everything and did his upmost to make sure we were all happy. Alas, you always get a few people who are not quite happy for whatever reasons, but we found him and his staff friendly.
We did not have time to view the local area, but it appeared to be in a nice quiet area, close to the town centre and within reach of everything you may need.
The hotel doors close at 11pm each night so if you need to pop out for a smoke, you just buzz to be let in again. The reception is open 24/7 though I did not feel the need to have a ciggie in the early hours. No smoking is allowed anywhere in the hotel, as is the norm.
Overall, being our first stay in a hotel, we loved it and would not be wary of staying in one again in the future. As our stay was included in a package, we cannot compare price wise with others but, whatever it cost, our stay was perfect.
