“Great place to stay”
Reviewed 15 April 2013

Stylish and spotless rooms in a nicely renovated old building.Beds comfortable and huge bathrooms. Breakfast was plentiful and of good quality. Very friendly hosts. Poelkapelle is a quiet, attractive town with a couple of bars/ restaurants although there are good places to eat in nearby towns

Room Tip: Top floor room had exposed beams

We came there in a group of 5 people and we were just excited to be there. We enjoyed every second of being there. The most beautifull thing about this place is bathroom in the room. When each of us took a shower or a bath (both available in very large bathroom) we came out very relaxed.... We make pictures of the bathroom and we were inspired by it. Very comfortable beds and 2 tvs. We can not complain about anything. Breakfast was included and we stand up from the table full happy and we were just thinking when is the next possible time to come back there. Personel was very helpfull even with our luggage. I WILL RECOMEND IT TO ANYONE. Many thanks to you guys, well done!

Room Tip: We have been in only one, but we will see what will happend next year :)

We stopped here for our lunch on a very cold Sunday afternoon. We received a very warm welcome and the food was delicious. The owner was friendly and obliging, definitely a place to stop and eat and drink if you are in the area.

We had a great short stay here in September 2012.

The Guesthouse has been extensively renovated around 12 months ago with great care and much attention to detail. The results are fantastic.

We initially intended to stay here with a paraplegic friend, although our plans changed. However the guesthouse is fully equipped for wheelchair users including an internal lift and would have been perfect for him.

We ended up ion the family room which is huge in comparison to other rooms we have stayed in in the region. I think this room is quite unique in the area, able to sleep 6 people, but all the while in proper classy elegance.

The family/staff are happy and more helpful than you could ever ask for. Thank you!

To me for my five night stay, everything was perfect. This old building in the village centre is newly refurbished with high quality fittings. The en suite accommodation rooms are on the two upper floors but a lift is available if needed. The ground floor tea room is used for an ample breakfast with good choices and also available for up to early evening cooked snacks, coffee, wine and bottled beer. I took advantage of the bicycle hire, small quiet roads are throughout the area. Stijn and Nele are always on hand for assistance but do not intrude on your own time. This small hotel is a brilliant new asset to the area and, as a regular visitor, now that I have found this I shall not need to look anywhere else.

If you want to find a really nice small hotel in Flanders, then it will be hard to better the service and attention given by the host Stejn and his wife Nele! They are a charming and very helpful couple who go out of there way to ensure your stay is both enjoyable and comfortable. The hotel facilities are excellent with spacious rooms, bakery and cafe/bar. They are also well set up for people with disabilities, with easy access, spacious lift and as mentioned previously good sized rooms. This is definitely a good value small hotel which leaves you with a feeling that you will be back again to relax and enjoy your visit to Flanders.

This was our first stop on a motorcycling tour of Belgium & Holland, en-route to the European Shadow Meeting near Eindhoven, Holland. For the first time ever we broke down and were delayed by some 6 hours. So to arrive at the Guesthouse at 12.30am and still receive a warm & friendly welcome was fantastic & a relief. We found the place easily, unlike some on our trip, and that Google Earth have it on the wrong side of the street. The Guesthouse is beautiful. Nice contrasts with old and new. The room was excellent, very comfortable & clean and well laid out with a modern en-suite bathroom and fantastic shower. Breakfast was very good, lots of choice and with large delicious pastries. There is free wi-fi, TV’s in the rooms, a tea-room & bakery. Secure bike parking is available in the property too. The owners were very helpful, suggesting places to see and providing us with a voucher book for the sites (Make sure the owner stamps and fills in their part prior to using). We can’t recommend the place and owners enough. Thanks for a great stay. We will certainly be returning next year.
