A lovely local pub recommended by our hotel on arrival - lasagne was amazing, staff friendly. Anybody know what the numbered box on the wall is - we saw people put money in it!!!

We only wanted a light meal and our hotel recommended this place. Even on a Thursday evening in February it was full, but were soon slotted in. We felt that the locals were using it rather than tourists (and indeed there is nothing outside to indicate it does food!!). Many of them were enjoying pasta - we chose instead a croque Monsieur (good with plentiful salad) and a shrimp croquette which was fine. Service was prompt and we enjoyed the musicians who popped in!

This bar is a little way out of the centre near the Astrid Park. It is a typical Belgian bar and on the Saturday night we visited, was very crowded. However, this just added to the lively atmosphere and it was a pleasant change to be in a bar with lots of locals.

In spite of the crowds, the table service was friendly and efficient and we had a very enjoyable evening. Excellent range of beers and the "pub grub" food was fine.

A bit off the beaten track, and a great relief not to find it full of other brits. Very good and lively atmosphere. It was rammed when we got there so we had a couple of beers at the bar before we were seated at an absolutely tiny table. The food is very good and as cheap as chips, the service is friendly and relaxed, but not obsequious, and of course the beer is just fine. I'd have given it 5 stars but for the fact that it was soooo crowded.
