Stayed in the 2nd floor room for a week in late April, and had a great week. Benny is friendly, knowledgeable, polite and the perfect host. We used Bruges as a base to explore West Flanders and beyond. Benny gave us excellent recommendations for what to do and where to eat in Ghent, Antwerp, Brussels, Oostende and Ieper. The apartment was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Location is wonderful - far enough from the noise and crowds, but only a 5-10 minute walk to the action. Breakfast is fantastic and huge, and the wet bar is well-stocked with snacks and fine Belgian beers. When we return to Bruges, we won't even consider staying anywhere else.

Benny and Paul were very accommodating hosts and the Bariseele is a beautiful and well appointed B&B. Our top floor room was large, bright and airy. Towels and bathroom fixtures were top notch. Bed was comfortable with nice linens. Plenty of space for hanging up and storing clothes. Well stocked mini-bar with a wide variety of drinks and some snacks. Breakfasts were high quality and varied each of our 3 days. Sony radio with iPod dock was a useful feature. Neighborhood is very quiet and no alarm clock is needed; you'll be awakened by beautiful church bells at exactly 7:30am every morning. The Market Square and many fine restaurants are within 15 minutes walk. A fabulous experience!

I haveibeen to luxury hotels and also cheaper ones, but B&B Bariseele in now one of my favorites. The room (the top floor one) is very spacious, very clean, the bed is very comfortable, the white decoration very pleasant, the location area is lovely, very quiet (not crowds of tourists) and yet a few minutes by walk from the central places of Bruges. But the most lovely thing is that the breakfast is served at the door of your room so you can wake-up at any time and enjoy it. The only incovinience was the fact that the bathroom is separated from the room with only a curtain which was beautiful but using the toilets was very fastidious with your partner being just a curtain away :) Apart from this, it was perfect :)

First of all we would like to thank you for your review, and fantastic compliments. We are very happy you enjoyed Bruges and your stay in our "room with a view". We have also noticed your remark about the curtain... From now on, we added a firm door to have access to the large bathroom. This way more privacy and convenience are added to the room with a view. We hope this will give an added value to your stay.

We hope we can welcome you again in the future. For the best rates, we advise to contact us directly..

friendly greetings
Benny

From the moment of our arrival our stay was perfect. Paul gave us a warm welcome, and Benny helped us get settled, as well as giving us a great city overview and some excellent restaurant recommendations. Our room was large, light, and airy, overlooking a historic church. It was like a quiet oasis after our long trip.

We were in a quiet area away from the tourist center, yet close enough to get to all the sights in minutes. Benny was always helpful in answering questions we had, and really made us feel like valued guests. One high point was the excellent breakfast right outside our door every morning...a perfect way to start each day in beautiful Bruges.

We stayed four nights, and wished we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be back!

We stayed at the Bariseele for two nights in July. We took the bus from the train station which stopped a few blocks away(a little over a euro per person). (The bus stop is located next to a large city map which helped us navigate) Paul checked us in and was very helpful. He outlined a walking tour on a map and also made dinner recs. He provided us with a anti-mosquito plug in, though we did never had a problem with it. Our room was the largest I have ever seen in Europe. There was a mini-fridge with quite a good beer selection at very reasonable prices(1-2 euro). The bathroom was also impressively large. The only complaint we had was there was only a curtain separating the bathroom and bedroom. The room did have wifi included. The breakfast was delivered to our room daily. The breakfasts were simple, but fresh and tasty. We especially enjoyed the cold pancakes.
We met Benny later in our stay. He was extremely friendly and helpful. He made us feel very comfortable.

The location was on the outskirts of the central city, though Bruges is not very large and the city square is only a 10 minute walk. The location was actually convenient for our bike trip to Damme. We do recommend the bike rental and trip to Damme. It was only 8 euro for the whole day with the provided discount card. After our initial city walk, Bruges was more convenient to navigate by bicycle.

Overall, we highly recommend the Bariseele and would return.

Of note, credit cards are not accepted.

We had the second floor large room with a very nic view of the church and local neighborhood. The only drawback is the steep staircase, so someone who is really vertically challenged might have a bit of a problem with the 24 steps.

This is a very large room witn a great king/queen bed ( we can't decide which) and a mattress to equal any five-star hotel.

The village gets up late, so there is very little traffic noise until 10 or so in the morning, and then it is only an occasional car. Breakfast will be outside your door in the morning and is an excellant example of Belgian delights.

Convenient to downtown - about a six block walk, off street parking is available for a fee ( less than half of what we paid in Amsterdam), and Benny is a charm to work with.

Right around the corner is a fabulous restaurant, Oud Handbogenof open in the evenings.

REerve with confidence and enjoy! NO TOUR busses are allowed in city central, so it is a fabulous place to visit without all the masses when a bus affives.

After reading the positive reviews for B&B Bariseele, I booked one of the apartments for 4 nights for my birthday. Benny was quick to respond to my e-mail and extremely friendly and helpful. Upon arrival Benny gave us loads of helpful information and tips on what to see and do in Brugge. He then showed us to our apartment... we chose the one on the top floor. It was large, comfortable and spotlessly clean. It had everything we needed including a mini bar and snacks if we got peckish. I took my own travel hairdryer with me but I needn't have done as there was one in the room which was better than my own! The towels were changed daily if we wished and the breakfast was fantastic. There was so much choice such as pancakes, fruit, bread, eggs, yoghurt, muesli...we often could not finish everything!
As for the location of the B&B... it is only a ten minute walk into the market square and it is a very pleasant walk indeed. My boyfriend and I thought it was a perfect location as it was very quiet and peaceful at night time and next to a lovely church.
I thoroughly recommend this place - thanks to Benny for being a lovely host!
