Owner description: Windmills have graced Bruges' ramparts ever since the construction of the outer city wall at the end of the 13th century. Today four specimens are left on Kruisvest. Sint-Janshuis Mill - anno 1770- is still in its original spot and still grinding grain just like its neighbour Koelewei Mill. The Sint-Janshuismolen is the only mill you can visit. OPEN: 01/04-30/09

The windmills are quite a walk through the city centre but definitely worth it. Located in a quiet, serene area with a park located nearby.

We chose to rent bikes and cycle around Bruges on the path along the windmills. It was the best way to explore these ancient windmills and get right up and close. Was fascinating to see them.

Worth a quick trip up to them.
Surrounding area was also green and well manicured- could be nice for a picnic as well.

We have seen and been inside a number of windmills, but since these were included in our Brugge Museum pass, we decided to walk to these windmills. We are glad we did since they were located in a non touristy area of Brugge where we had not been previously. Once you get there, you need very little time to explore. The opening times are VERY limited.

The windmills are a nice place to visit once. There isn't much to do there but they are neat to see if you aren't used to seeing windmills.Worth a quick trip.

There are 4 windmills in the west of the town.
It is not easy to reach if you walk from town, but if you use car or bike, I really recommend you to go here.
The windmills are not working anymore but it was still maintained very well.
The surroundings area is very green with very good grass around.
Local used this place to have picnic with beautiful canal view next to it.
If you have time, stroll around in this place and have picnic there.
