We only had a short stay at this cute little place, but we were impressed. The location is great and is only 5-10 minutes away from the hussle and bussle of the main streets. Monique went our of her way to assist us and we took advantage of her tips, plus the discount on the boat trip!
We would highly recommend this clean and neat B&B.

Monique, the owner is part of the charm. We booked the room while she was on her bicycle on route to her hairdresser. She made every effort to make us feel at home and to vary the breakfast offerings, including the best French toast we have ever eaten! Situated within walking distance to everything in the old city. Very comfortable "apartment", with very well appointed kitchen and a bathroom. note: the bathroom is at the bottom of the stairs to the bedroom with no way to close it off, except for a screen. However this was not at all a problem for our family. Rates in March were extremely good for the value. Clean, comfortable stay. A real B&B experience we recommend.

Room Tip: With B&Bs, it helps to talk to the owner before deciding. You can glean a lot from thier person...

My family stayed here with Monique for 3 nights and totally enjoyed our time! The location is hard to beat; only 5-10 mins from the Market/Burg. The place was plenty big for my wife and I plus our two little girls. Monique will tell you the best places to eat, shop, etc. She knows everyone in the city, so you're getting much more than just a B&B host! The beds were plenty comfortable, and there is a small kitchen if you want to stay in for a night. Watch out....Monique will WOW you with her breakfast. Ask for the "lost toast" and omelettes, definitely! We hope to be back to explore more in the Spring!

Me and my fiance spent only one night here and we liked it. Everything we already read in reviews is true.House is in quiet street, near city center (5min walk), room is actually appartament with kitchen, little living room and bathroom /toilet downstairs and sleeping room upstairs. More than enough for weekend trip. Two little minuses : bed is not very confortable(but still not a big problem) and there can be some way to close space between sleeping room and toilet (also not a problem if one person is there and another in living room/kitchen).
Monique is very friendly person,we felt like we knew her longer than few hours. She made nice breakfast for us (also is possible to rent room without breakfast). We would come to her house again.

We stayed at Monique’s wonderful B&B/apartment for a whole week in August. It turned out to be the perfect base from which to explore Bruges, as the house was within easy walking distance of the Belfort and other main attractions. Having said this, it’s also in a very quiet neighbourhood and we slept very well all week as the bed was so comfortable!

When I booked the accommodation by email, Monique offered to pick us up from the train station and she also took us back there on the day we left. As a local, she was able to give us lots of valuable tips and advice about the best places to visit and eat at. The apartment was clean and comfortable and on two levels. The kitchen and living area, plus the bathroom are on the lower level, while the bedroom is up some steep stairs in a loft conversion. We had decided to self-cater so we did not buy any breakfasts from Monique, but all the comments in the visitors’ book were very positive about them.

One special bonus of staying here was the fact that the living room window looked out onto a neighbour’s large garden where numerous guinea pigs, rabbits and chickens were running free. They kept us entertained all week!

All in all, we had a fantastic week in Bruges and Monique helped to make it a very memorable holiday. At 50 Euros a night (without breakfast) for both of us, it was also great value. We would definitely stay here again the next time we visit Bruges and would recommend Monique's accommodation to anyone.

We stayed in Brugge for 4 nights at the end of June as part of a self-drive tour around Benelux. One big advantage of this B&B is that Monique has a parking space just outside which was free to use. Other places we'd been staying at had been charging up to 20 euros per day for parking.

We managed to find the B&B after a few attempts! Brugge is full of narrow one way streets, and if you miss a turn you can take a bit of time to get back to where you started! Be warned, don't park anywhere you shouldn't, the parking inspectors are ruthless!

Monique warmly greeted us (in English!) and showed us around the apartment. It is a fully self-contained apartment with everything you'd need to live there indefinitely!

Monique lives on the ground floor, and the apartment comprises a small kitchen, lounge and bathroom on part of the first floor, and bedroom on the second (the attic). There are narrow and steep steps leading to both levels. It could be difficult getting up or down these stairs if you were a bit frail, or if you had really heavy or large suitcases. We managed it OK. Stairs like that are just normal for this part of the world!

Because the apartment is totally separate, you can enter and leave the house without having to walk through any of Monique's personal living area. Monique also gives you your own key to get in and out of the front door whenever you want.

The B&B is located within easy walking distance of the town square and has a very pleasant view from the lounge window. On a good day you can see the guinea pigs grazing on the grass!

The apartment was clean and the bed was comfortable. It is ideal for a couple. There was a single bed on the 3rd level as well as the double, so three people could stay there OK, any more however could be a squeeze! The location is very quiet at night, away from the main tourist thoroughfares, so we had a good sleep each night. The only thing extra we'd have liked was an internet connection. There is an internet cafe in town if you are desperate, but we didn't use it.

We had booked our stay with breakfasts provided, not realising the apartment had such good facilities. Next time we'd probably get our own breakfasts, and with the money saved, stay an extra day! Monique's breakfasts however were really good, with something different every day. Breakfasts consisted of cold meats and cheese or omelette or French bread (yum!) as well as fresh breads, toast, freshly squeezed orange juice and tea/coffee etc. You don't leave the table hungry!

Monique is a "local" so knows the best places to eat. There are lots of cafes and restaurants in Brugge and it's very easy to make some really bad choices! Follow Monique's advice and you'll get good meals at reasonable prices. In particular, make sure you try the spaghetti at Medard's Cafe Brasserie. It tastes great, and costs only 3 euros for a good sized bowl of spaghetti bolognese; make sure you get a note from Monique before you go however, because without it you may not get a table. It's very popular, and in the evening all unused tables are marked as "reserved" and the owner chooses whom he serves! Be warned too that they are closed every Thursday!

We asked Monique about possible places to visit on a day trip by car from Brugge and she suggested the northern beaches, and even volunteered to be our guide, which we gratefully accepted! We had a great day visiting De Haan, Lissewege, Zeebrugge and Knokke-Heist. Her local knowledge really helped a lot.

If you are in Brugge on a Wednesday, don't miss the markets. The food and flowers are fantastic!

Overall we had a really great time in Brugge and really appreciated all that Monique did for us. We would definitely stay here again if we came back. If you are planning to visit, make sure you stay at least 3 days as there are so many things to see and do!

We stayed in Monique's lovely B&B apartment for a few days in April as part of a big European vacation we had been planning for years, and we were not disappointed. As others have said, she offered to pick us up at the train station and bring us in, though we decided to just take the bus since we weren't sure of our train arrival time and couldn't call.

She took the first 30 minutes after we arrived to show us around the lovely two-floor apartment that is part of her house and give us a list of good things to see, places to go, and restaurants to eat at, all of which were extremely helpful.

First, the apartment is terrific. There's a small kitchen, a teapot, a stove, a microwave and a refrigerator on the main floor with at TV and two seats. The bathroom is on that floor at the bottom of the stairs that go up to the bedroom. The bedroom could easily sleep 3 comfortably if traveling with a child, maybe even 2. Only bummer was that you have to go down the steep stairs back to the main floor to use the bathroom in the night. One of the best parts of staying here is that you basically have your own apartment with plenty of room — not just a room in someone's house.

It was super clean and well-tended, in a great location just north of the Market center, but the real highlight is Monique herself. Her breakfasts were delicious, but her attention to making sure you have some inside tips to enjoy Bruges as much as possible were terrific. Best example: She told us about this restaurant and gave us a card to help us make a reservation, as the owner is a little particular. He doesn't take reservations after 7:30, and often leaves tables open and turns away guests at the door with no reservations though tables are open. With her advice, we got a reservation and had the best meal of our entire trip (and one of the most affordable: 20 euros for two plates of spaghetti, 3 drinks and dessert.) So if she offers you restaurant or other advice, it's well worth taking.

She was not available the last night that we wanted to stay, but she coordinated one night for us at the home of a girlfriend who occasionally rents out their granny flat over the garage in another part of old town. She drove us over and introduced us to her friend who was also very nice and had a great two-room apartment for us to stay in, though without breakfast, which was fine.

We would HEARTILY recommend Monique's place to anyone. Would be good for another couple, a pair traveling together (there was a second twin bed), or a small family. The stairs to the bedroom can be steep, so perhaps not good for the infirm. It was clean, organized and in a great location — but Monique's help on how to get the most for your money in Bruges was by far the greatest feature. The fact that she just has this one unit means you get her undivided attention and assistance.
