“Rude and offensive”
Reviewed 7 April 2014

We saw the horses and carriages by the Minnewater Park and decided to ask the female driver about the tours. I said "excuse me" about ten times while she was feeding the horse. She ignored me at first then said "what?"

She said we would need to go to the market square to get on a tour. She was very abrupt and angry looking. When I said thank you she said "there's no need to loo at me like that"

As we walked away she shouted "damned foreigners" and continued to shout at us as we made our way on foot. We were very upset by this and the experience ruined our day out as we couldn't stop thinking about her rudeness.

“Great way to see Bruges!”
Reviewed 11 March 2014

This was one of the first things we did when we arrived in Bruges, without it we wouldnt have known where to start! The driver was knowledgable and interesting, giving us lots of useful information about various sights around the city and showing us the locations of the top attractions. With blankets provided for the cold and a roof for the rain, the carraiges are also well enough equipped for a tour in all weather conditions. The horse-drawn carraiges add extra character to this beautifully preserved city and, at 39 euros for a 30 minute tour, I fully reccomend this unique way to see Bruges.

“Distressing to say the least”
Reviewed 9 March 2014 via mobile

We were going to book one of these tours as they looked like a very romantic way of seeing Bruges. However as the day drew on it became clear that the same horses were being used to drag tourists around the cobbled streets relentlessly. By the end of the day some of them couldn't pick their feet up properly and were literally soaked in sweat, others had sores on their sides from the constant rub of the leather harnesses, and still they had to continue into the night.

Utterly disgusted by the blatant disregard towards equestrian health from those responsible for the tours, but even more disgusted by those paying for them. We will be opting for a boat tour instead!!

“Do this trip first”
Reviewed 22 February 2014

We paid 39 Euros for half-hour trip, plus the commentary is by donation. Our guide was everso good; excellent English. Although he must make the same joke every time, he reall made it feel like an individual trip just for us. We took this trip on our first morning to help get our bearings and to have a quick look at all the important features of Bruges. The carriage is surprisingly comfortable, although you must hang-on. We did not need the blankets, but huddled under them anyway just for the atmosphere. When it rains, there is a large cover and umbrellas. Half-way through, the 5-minute stop is in a gorgeous, quiet area, just outside the Begijnhof. An absolute highlight of our trip.

“Great way to see hidden delights”
Reviewed 16 February 2014

Although a little chilly 2 blankets kept us warm. Our lady who took us round spoke wonderful English and talked enthusiastically about all the nooks and crannies of Bruges. A little stop to rest the horse and then we was off again.
