Owner description: The historic center of Bruges has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000 thanks to its status as one of the commercial and cultural capitals of Europe and its enduring Gothic architecture. The Belgian city center is cited as a great example of a medieval historic settlement, even while it has evolved over the years.

“Very Old buldings, Lots of them.”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

Brugge, is one of my favourite places in Europe so far, especially the center part. The old Buildings has so much charm, and there is so many buildings to see, the layouts of the streets is really pretty. Take time to have a boat tour through the old part, takes 30 minutes and costs around 7.5 euros, and is really worthwhile seeing the canal side of the buildings.

“well wort the trip”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

Drove down from Amsterdam, although it was a 3 hr drive it was worth it, what a beautiful city with so much to see, chocolate shops everywhere and beer available almost as much, we wandered sround for 4 to 5 hrs and could have done it for another 4 to 5, so much to see, had some great hot chocolate, brought heaps of chocolate and enjoyed a beer or 2, though a particular attraction that is based on people comming to look at the beer wall could be a lot more friendly, the tall blond girl was flat out rude to the Spanish lady in front of me then followed up with her ignorant attitude with me, I asked if the beers on tap were on the card they supplied to read and could she recommend one, it's pretty simple, if you don't like tourists don't work in the tourist industry, her answer only msde her look stupid and rude, so I just walked out and got a lovely beer or 4 elsewhere, the convent grounds were a peaceful escape for a while and the old buildings were great to look at.

“beautiful city”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

Don't be put off by the movie, I can't imagine how much damage that movie did to this beautiful city. It is always so nice to discover a city that has escaped the ravages of war and is still original. Great for walking and eating and drinking, cathedrals, churches, museums, canals everywhere. lots to do. It's like Amsterdam but better.

“Bruges is definitely worth a visit.”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

This is a centre that should be visited once in a life time. It really is lovely and quite small, so easy to get around in a day or two. Every street and building is immaculate with many exhibiting ancient features. The canals are not as extensive as some might think, and the canal trip is great but at only 30 minutes gives you an idea of how extensive (or not) the canal system is. What I also liked were the abundance of top quality museums. and cafes. We spent 2 days here and felt that was enough to get a real feel for the place, but you could spend 2 weeks here if you were a museum nut and find different stuff to do every day.
