Fantastic hotel, apart from the bar service, great lounge arears, including a very pleasant smoking room, but you are not able to sit relax have a drink because the bar tender is never there, each time we wanted a drink,I had to go to the office behind the reception to ask someone to get us a drink.
VERY clean I think faries are at work whilst you are sleeping, breakfast includes everything you could possibly think off.
The beds do need to be corrected, at least have superking duvets if you are putting the beds together.
As per the other reviews, some bar snack type food for room service/or bar service would be nice.
Overall the location was fantastic.

Based on the reviews of other travelers, my friends and I tried to get rooms at some of the better reviewed hotels in Bruges, but this was one of the few very central hotels that would accommodate 3 people in one room. We didn't have the highest of expectations based on some of the lukewarm reviews, but we definitely were pleased with our stay. We paid for a regular room with an extra bed, expecting a roll-away or such, and instead got a loft-style room that featured two beds on the ground floor and a double sized bed in the loft. The loft area was toasty at night, but as we were staying there in February, the heat was more than welcome -- I'm not sure what it would be like in the summer. The bathroom was huge by European hotel standards, with two sink areas (very useful for multiple girls trying to get ready in the morning!), a shower and a long soaking tub with a toilet in a separate room. Everything was spotlessly clean. The room was located in the older section of the hotel and had old wooden beamed ceilings. Other reviewers have complained of the wood smell, which my friends and I didn't notice -- there was a strong smell of something like Old English furniture polish but it was lemony and just seemed to reinforce that the room had been cleaned well! And despite being in the "older" section of the hotel, everything was modern and very comfortable.

Reception is small, so when we checked out there was a very long queue but the staff was efficient and pleasant and, although they don't seem to accommodate late check out, they will let you leave your luggage in a locked room in the hotel.

There is a large breakfast buffet that is available for hours in the morning -- and they always were kind enough to let us in even when we arrived technically after it closed. There are plenty of restaurants in the area for dinner, like Carlito's, a few steps from the hotel (walking in the direction away from the market) -- the owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming and treated us to some great pizza, which may not be what you're looking for in Belgium but we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the fact that it was still open and serving food when we arrived at 10.

Just back from lovely weekend in Bruges and had lovely stay at the hotel. We had a deluxe room so very spacious, breakfast was excellant and such a beautiful building with many 5 star features but at 4 star prices. Only downside was the beds are 2 twins together and not a double, also no food served in hotel and the bar area is so lovely and would be perfect for light snacks, bit of a wasted space and also no room service. Apart from that would very much recommend and would definitely return.

Very good location and very good hotel in Bruges - we had a fine room in the "older" part of the hotel. Service was excellent and the breakfasts were delightful.

Well located close to city centre and canals. Easy walk to all of central Bruges. Comfortable modern room in good condition. Our room was quiet. Large underground car park accessed by car lift which was very secure. Quick check in and out. Well organised breakfast buffet with no waits. Quick efficient lifts - no waiting. No restaurant on site but many within very easy walking distance.

I have just spent my birthday in Bruge and it will be one I will always remember! The Grand Hotel Casselbergh is a lovely hotel and the location is spot on! So close to the Maarkt and within walking distance of everything you would want to see. Checking in was seamless and the lovely receptionist made a point of telling us that our room was special and she had been told not to change it (obviously Railbookers had let them know it was my birthday). We were not disappointed. Our room was in the "old wing" (12-14) with a cathedral ceiling and exposed wooden beams - with this most beautiful chandalier (I've attached a photo - however - it doesn't really do it justice)! Bathroom was very well appointed with a "rain" shower cubicle along with a large bath. The amentiies were L'Occitane (my favorite). The bed was 2 singles put together which really wasn't a problem - as they were extremely comfortable. Our breakfast was part of our package and we were most impressed with the huge range that was on offer! Scrambled eggs and smoked salmon were definitely the order of the day for us. However, the range was quite extensive. You would not be disappointed (and we are quite fussy believe you me). In summary, we absolutely loved the Grand Hotel Casselbergh in Bruge - it's a lovely hotel, quite classy and found the service to be excellent! You will not be disappointed in choosing this lovely hotel!

We stayed 1 night at the Grand Hotel. English is spoken extensively throughout the hotel and the check in staff were very helpful. Out room was very well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was a buffet with a mix of english & continental styles.
The bar area and lounge are fantastic places to relax after a days exploring. The hotel is very well located for all Bruges attractions.
