The title says it all! This was our first time at the Casselbergh and we feel fortunate to have selected it. If you are visiting Brugge, treat yourself to the Casselbergh and you won't regret it......Location, Quality, and Excellence!

The 4 of us (8yo and 10yo) stayed in the larger duplex style rooms facing the front of the building. It easily took us which was nice plus it was well appointed, comfortable, and with a nice bathroom. At over €1300 for four nights in a small Belgium town, I had hoped for this level.

The building was nice with a few added pluses - a handful of cardio and weight machines plus a sauna area too. Breakfast was a very busy affair served in the restaurant, but as a foodie I have no complaints about the content of the buffet. It seemed pretty comprehensive to me.

I was in the gym one evening and saw a lady fill several bottles of water out of the supply for those excerising - clearly she felt that the pricing was rich enough in the mini bar - a very cheap trick which I do not condone. If you cant afford to stay move to a cheaper hotel!

The building is newly decorated which has been mentioned - the biggest draw back though is the lack of even the most modest of bar menus in case you feel like a sandwich one evening instead having to go out. Something like this would of helped on at least one occasion with us instead we ordered pre-packed cubes of ham which took the bar lady 30minutes to bring to us as she decided to serve other people first, and she was on her own.

Previous reviewers have mentioned staff - they are courteous but the front of house in general did not really offeri the right service level. The front desk was rarely occupied yet I could hear them whilst waiting, chatting in an adjacent office. We parked in the hotel car park, so getting the key became a little painful. When I checked out (having paid in advance) I was given the wrong bill, to be corrected, but then asked for payment once again. The lady made no attempt at even the most minor apology.

In summary a nice well located place to stay which at the price could be improved. Front of house should be permamently occupied and checkout/checkin dealt with seperately from concierge issues. A bell hop wouldn't hurt at times either The large bar should offer a concise food menu available when the bar is open; all niggly, easy to amend issues.

For those that wish to park under the hotel-parking a Honda CRV was tough at first . I would think twice with cars much longer or wider.

We stayed at the hotel on a tour. It's very centrally located and lovely. There was a separate shower and bath and a very good, large buffet breakfast. The toiletries were also excellent. The lobby has a very nice reading room.

Room Tip: We stayed in the new wing, which was modern and very nice.

Excellent location, minutes from city centre. The hotel is beautifully decorated, with excellent front-of-house staff who gave us a warm welcome and helpful advice on activities to do during our stay in Bruges. The room was of a good size, clean and, as we were staying in the old part of the hotel, contained original beams on the ceiling. Super breakfast available, heaps of choice, friendly service. Only downside for us: the basement gym/fitness centre was small and the sauna/steam rooms were out of action during our stay. The hotel does not have a pool or jacuzzi and treatments were not available; this let us down as we were hoping for some pampering! Overall, this is a great choice for a weekend break.

Spent 3 nights at this hotel and having read some dubious reviews (especially about the staff) I was wondering if the complaints would be accurate. Firstly I don't require staff to be friendly just civil and efficient will do. And that was our experience. Perfectly civil and polite. The hotel itself is decorated to a high standard and the room was spacious and spotless. This was an upgrade to an executive suite however other rooms may differ. The prices of drinks in the hotel was surprisingly reasonble compared to local bars and restaurants and the lounge area was palacious to sit in. There was always a barman to attend and service was polite and efficient.
Locality wise this was perfect and everywhere you wanted to go was within easy walking distance. A high class hotel with pretty much high class service.

Room Tip: We had a voucher from a holiday website which included room upgrade. A good idea to get a good room.

Beautiful hotel and excellent location in the middle of Brugge.
We booked an executive room in the "old, historic" building which was beautifuly decorated.
Breakfast was excellent and included in the rate. The restaurant was also very pretty and service was great.

This is a brand new hotel, but it feels like it has been there for a very long time. No expenses spared and the result is there. Although the room decoration is not really my style (looks old, is new) I did like the fact that the room (and bathroom) was large, everything worked and was easy to figger out. Location is as good as it gets in Bruges. Parking is just a bit of a hastle (car elevator!), but the fact that there is a parking is already a plus.
We did not have breakfast, but had a quick croissant and coffee in one of the brasseries on the market square (2 minute walk).
We paid 125 euro for the room. Unbeatable price for this level of quality in Bruges.
