We stayed for two nights in early October. The location is perfect for seeing all the sights in Bruges, within easy walking distance of everything. The room was lovely, spacious and clean. We didn't have a great view, but we weren't in the room very long. We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel, so I cannot review that, but we did have a couple of exceptional beers in the bar that were very reasonably priced. I would recommend a cab from the train station. The cobblestones were really hard on the luggage wheels and the lats. Bruges is a terrific town - bring your sweet tooth and measurements for your tables - lots of chocolate and lace.

stayed here for 1 night (sept 2011) as hotel prisenhof was fully booked. the rate is slightly higher and room is a bit smaller but this one comes with breakfast . Casselbergh is a typical city hotel with a modern interior , on the other hand prisenhof has more of the old feeling with its traditional building . anyway , we were not disappointed with this hotel - location wise, much nearer to the markt n bell tower square and i definately loved the bathroom - it has 2 shower area , a standing and the usual tub/shower . well , us being asians, prefer the standing shower more. Overall we enjoyed our 2night stay in Bruges from wondering in the alleys, to city tour on carriage drawn horse and boat ride . well most probably Bruges is the highlight of our 10 days trip - Barcelona/ Paris n ended with Brussels.

p/s : this is my opinion: dont get the canal view room - there's nothing much to see . the canal is not exactly next to yr room ( as i imagined my room in Venice ) an open space separates it .

We would definitely stay here again and have recommended it to friends. Opened only a year ago after refurbishment, this hotel blends modern and traditional design features very successfully, is welcoming, elegant, well appointed and scrupulously clean.
Our room was spacious and pleasant, with a huge and very comfortable bed. The en-suite had bath and also a wonderful large shower cubicle with both overhead and conventional shower heads.
There is a generous and varied breakfast buffet with everything you could wish, and excellent service and quality. It is available from 7 until 10.30 am, so plenty of time for a lie-in!
The hotel is in the perfect position for exploring beautiful Bruges, very close to the Burg and Markt, but still quiet and peaceful. The hotel staff were polite, efficient and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend in Bruges.

Stayed at this Hotel Oct 2011 having booked with Voyage Privy. It really is 5 star,in every respect, the breakfast is very special.Drinks are very reasonable compared to drinking in the main square. It is ideal to walk to the main shopping and sight seeing areas about 6 mins.
If booking on your own its costs about £130 per night I got a deal for 3 nights plus eurostar and
train from brussels to Bruge for £399 all in with Voyage Privy

We stayed in this hotel for three nights as part of a pre-trip on a river cruise. It is a very short walk to both the Burg Platz and the Markt Platz. The room was nicely furnished and a good size. It was quiet and the breakfast was very good. It has a small bar that we didn't try and no restaurant.

Room Tip: We were on the first floor in the back facing an alley. While not the prettiest view it was quiet...

i would highly recommend a stay at this hotel.
We were allocated a first floor room, with street facing view. The room was adequate size, the beds/pillows very comfortable and bathroom large clean and the luxury of l'occitane toiletries. The room has individual thermostats which was ideal as we did find the hotel itself rather hot.
Breakfast is self service and a good range of the usual items, fruit, bread, ham, cheese and hot foods.
The public areas are luxurious and comfortable. We enjoyed a drink in the bar each evening and as previously mentioned, found it slightly on the expensive side. Not surprising in this standard of hotel.
I would definitely return but would probably upgrade to a larger room that wasn't street facing.

Room Tip: try to choose a room away from the front of the hotel, a bit of road noise if you are a light sleepe...
