This hotel is indeed one of the most beautiful hotels we ever visited. It's in the center of Bruges, one of the most beautiful cities of Belgium.
In my opinion you can rated this hotel as a 5-star hotel.
The only 'negative' point that I can mention here is the fact that you only can have a breakfast in the hotel.

Stayed here in Feb 2013 for a couple of nights. This is by far the best hotel i have ever stayed in. It had excellent facilities (including a sauna and steam room) and the rooms were exquisite. There was plenty of choice for breakfast as well....would definately recommend!!

Stayed here for 2 nights over New Year and have to say its one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in. The rooms are well appointed, staff friendly and bar man knowledgeable!
The decor is pristine and doesn't look dated anywhere I could see
Had breakfast too which had all the options and was well presented and cooked

We booked online and reserved two rooms on the executive floor(the old part of the hotel). We checked into our rooms and were not happy at all. The rooms were about the quality of a middle range motel chain in the USA. I went to the reception to inquire, and they said they didn't see that we booked on the executive floor(they claimed the print was too small), but they would be happy to move us the next day, and refund the difference in the price of the rooms. Personally I think they should have at least given us a couple free drinks for the massive inconvenience this caused us, but once we eventually were moved we were happy.
1.If you stay at the Casselbergh, I suggest you pay the extra to stay in the old part of the hotel(executive). The difference between the two is night and day, and I don't think there is much of a price difference.
2.The breakfast is outstanding.
3.The sitting areas around the bar have tons of character. Great place to relax and have a drink.
4.Perfect location.
5.No concierge or bellman to help with luggage.
6.The workers at the front dest were helpful in doing the duties of a concierge(booking restaurants etc.) There should be at least two people at the front desk at all times during the day, but often times there was a wait. The hotel should hire one more person to work the bar area, and one more person for reception.
7.I would not have a problem staying here again, but would also look at other hotels.

Our second visit so we thought we knew what to expect. We booked on the internet and wanted a canal view but there appeared to be a mix up and we ended up with a view of other bedrooms! Check your confirmation carefully. That said, this is a very good hotel with lots of plus points.
Location a few steps from the Burg and close to many restaurants, shops and sights. Excellent staff, both on reception and room cleaning. Good public rooms with drink service. Very good breakfast with great variety of food. Large, well equipt bedrooms in modern block, I believe the bedrooms in the older building are smaller. The garage is small and requires fitting your car in a lift and then very careful parking.

Room Tip: Check your confirmation carefully to make sure you have been given what you wanted.

If you get the opportunity to visit Bruges take the opportunity to stay in this wonderful hotel. Very central and very very comfortable . The rooms are big and airy and the breakfast is superb. We dined out every evening in Market Square a full 2 minute walk away. I will be back

Room Tip: All rooms seem to be fine

Second time around at the Casselbergh and although the canal view room on the top floor had a better view of the canal than the previous room on the second floor, the room itself was not as good. Despite this the hotel does excel, quality décor especially in the reception and bar area, the bedroom we had did look a little tired and the water leaked from the shower but I've encountered far worse.
The staff are a credit to the hotel, always helpful and pleasant.
Recommended.
