“Lovely place to stay in Brugge.”
Reviewed 7 April 2014 via mobile

We stayed at the Grand Hotel Casselbergh, Bruges for a couple of nights and had a really good stay. The hotel is beautiful and well located. Staff were friendly and helpful. We opted to not pay the €25 for breakfast and went to a great local coffee bar - kaffe brasilia - instead. The room was immaculate as was the hotel in general. The fitness/wellness area was clean & well appointed. Parking on site was a definite bonus. Hotel bar was very reasonably priced.

An exceptional hotel where nothing is too much trouble for the really pleasant and helpful staff. The hotel is perfectly situated in the centre and the public rooms are absolutely beautiful. We travelled with Riviera, a first class company who have excelled themselves in their choice of hotel. Our room was spacious, very comfortable and well equipped. There was an excellent choice of either hot or cold buffet for breakfast and, in our opinion, this should be rated 5 star as it easily achieves its 4 star status. It is the only hotel to stay in on a visit to Bruges and we shall certainly be returning. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

Room Tip: Whenever we travel we prefer to stay in the main hotel building, which in this case would have been...

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay here and would recommend it to anyone.

2 in our party have walking difficulties so the ground floor rooms just a few steps up were much appreciated. These rooms were in the modern part of the building- not as light as I would like but otherwise fine -very nicely decorated, clean modern bathroom and altogether very comfortable.

The bar and lounge area was very relaxing - great to have a drink here before the short walk to one of the local restaurants in the evening. Waiters very professional - and we loved the unusual nibbles served with the drinks.

We couldn't fault the breakfast. Delicious freshly squeezed orange juice and spoilt for choice with fresh fruit, light pastries and the usual array of cold meats & cheeses plus well cooked bacon, scrambled eggs etc.

The trip was a special treat for my sister and niece, and both really loved it.

A stunning, comfortable hotel in perfect central location, so everywhere was easily accessible on foot. The large public rooms would not have looked out of place in a grand National Trust property. Our bedroom was in the old part of the building. It was a really large room, with a very comfortable bed, quality sheets and soft fluffy pillows. The bedroom was impressive, and the bathroom even more so. I think we've stayed in hotel rooms smaller than this bathroom! To have a large double shower as well as a very large bath felt indulgent, without being pampered further with divine L'Occitaine citrus toiletries. The hotel was spotless throughout. There was an extensive buffet breakfast, although the food was pretty average.
My only negative point, and this is really just nit picking- We hardly saw the reception staff look up from the desk to acknowledge us, during our 3 night break.
.If you want to see what seems to be a hidden secret, pop over the road to the Crowne Plaza Hotel, and ask if you can see the foundations in the basement. They are more than happy to let you go to the basement during the day and see the foundations of St. Donatatian church ( The 1st church built in Bruges!), along with some of the archealogical finds. Very impressive and free!

My 3 friends and I stayed in a quadruple room that had a loft. Spacious and interesting with big open beams. The location is within walking distance of everything. Nice and quiet. Nice lounge for an evening night cap. Get directions on parking, if you're not familiar with car elevator and, if you are driving, make sure it's a smaller-size car. Enjoy!

A splendid hotel in a great location within walking distance of the main tourist attractions and restaurants.Beautiful high ceilings in public rooms and bar.Good sized bedrooms and excellent bathroom.Superb buffet breakfast where the service was excellent.
Parking available at hotel but expensive.Public parking within 2 minutes walk at one third of the price.
The weather was very good but the only real downside of the hotel was an absence of outside seating.

Delightful hotel exceptionally close to city centre but in a peaceful location. Staff extremely friendly and helpful; rooms very comfortable and well-appointed. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

This is a great place from which to explore the delightful city of Bruges. It's an elegant, chic hotel that looks grand (and is) but makes you feel right at home. Breakfast buffet was extensive and delicious served in a lovely dining room; even opened 30 mins early for us as we had an early flight!. They don't offer an evening meal option but don't let that put you off, there are loads of places to eat within five minutes' walk.

Room Tip: We had rooms in the modern part at the rear of the hotel and they were wonderful!!
