“Don't Waste Your Money Here”
Reviewed 11 April 2014

As I have eaten here several times before, I was amazed at the extremely poor service, cold food, and a complete lack of indifference by the staff. There were 5 of us dining for dinner here on March 29, 2014. The service was horrible......at one point I actually had to go looking for a staff member to take our orders, and even found it difficult to actually find somebody. Nobody seemed to care, as if we were a burden on them. The food arrived slowly, and was warm at best.
Not sure what has happened here....but clearly and absolutely without any management or direction.
There are many great restaurants in Brugge, stay away from this one, and spend your money somewhere else....you will be glad you did.

“’Another good restaurant in Bruges’”
Reviewed 10 February 2014

The restaurant is attached to our hotel, the Hotel Bourgoensch Hof. We had stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and the restaurant suddenly opened – on a Friday night. It was empty but on the Saturday there were a few table occupied and we took the plunge.
Prices were Bruges standard but drink prices were significantly reduced from the nearby Markt, the tourist fly traps in Bruges. Disappointdly, the fixed menu at €19 didn’t apply despite being advertised.
Our meal was excellent with good portions and with very good attentive and personal service in attractive surroundings. The, beer was wonderful. We had a selection of Juliper (a bit below par, but it turned out to be end of barrel), a white beer and the Brugse Zot (the local & most expensive at €5 for 500cl).
Full marks. I would certainly return here.
I can thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

“Great food, great location”
Reviewed 3 January 2014

Erasmus is located in the centre of Brugge on Wollestraat. It is a modern and comfortable restaurant, joined to a hotel on the rear. Our party of four popped in for lunch and found the food to be excellent indeed. Service was a little slow, but as we weren't in a rush this wasn't an issue.
Dover sole was outstanding and to be recommended. The beef casserole was also fantastic - served with warm apple sauce and frites.
Nice range of beers to choose from and wine was also good.

“Good food and wine”
Reviewed 16 December 2013

We chose this place as the menu was reasonably priced and it was recommended in our guide book. We were not disappointed. The Marvin Gaye menu was varied and interesting. Starters were great, and the main of rabbit was the best rabbit my OH has eaten. My beef stew was ok - the meat could have been more tender. Wine was great. The only suggestion I would make is to dim the lights a bit and have some background music on - it was a little lacking in atmosphere and these two things would be very simple to do! Friendly, efficient staff.
