“'Water' Lovely Place To Stay!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 September 2012

Our stay at the Waterside B&B was very comfortable, enjoyable and relaxing. On the outskirts of the city, it was perfectly placed to be far enough away from the throng of the city centre, but close enough to make it an easy 15 minute stroll in to where the main attractions are situated. Our host, Mieke, was extremely friendly, welcoming and accommodating; the rooms clean and comfy, and the breakfasts superb continental-styly! We wouldn't hesitate to return.

We stayed here for two nights in July. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. And the bathroom, while petite, was well-appointed. The owner, Mieke, is fantastic. She took the time at check in to give us an overview of the city and make recommendations for our time there. And she just generally made us feel welcome & at home. Breakfast was delicious and healthy--a welcome respite from waffles and fries. :) The location is great. It's a short walk from the center of town, so you're away from the bustle of day trippers, but all the sights are quite close. It was also an easy, pretty (although longer) walk from the train station. We'd stay here again!

(I also highly recommend Mieke's bike tour! It was a beautiful ride, not difficult, and she gives a funny, informative tour.)

My wife and I had a very lovely stay at the Waterside B&B. Mikke, the owner of the B&B, was great. As soon as we arrived she showed us a map and highlighted the town's major attractions for us. The breakfast was very good, Mikke served us an all organic euro style breakfast. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. The best part was the view. Our room looked out over a major canal. It was a beautiful sight to wake up to. The B&B is in a very good location. It is a 15 minute bus ride from the train station, and about a 10 minute walk into the heart of the city. For as much as the B&B offered, the price was a great deal. If we ever go back to Bruges, we are going to stay there again.

Room Tip: There are only 2 rooms. The room facing the canal Is a king size bed. The room overlooking the gar...

I recently stayed at the Waterside with a friend for a long weekend. We shared the room at the back which had twin beds and was spacious enough for the two of us. Our host Mieke was lovely and quite funny at times. She took the time to tell us all about Bruges, where to eat, what to see. Breakfast was nice, Belgian bread is lovely. The Waterside ticked all the boxes for us and was quite close to the lovely historical town of Bruges. We already plan to go back in the winter to visit the Christmas market. We really couldn't fault it.

My partner and I visited Brugge for 3 nights and stayed at the Waterside B&B. It is located along one of the canal and is easily accessible by bus from the main train station. From when we first arrived, Mieke was very warm, welcoming and helpful. She showed us the places of interest on the map and suggested a rough itinerary to see these sights.

The accommodation is located on the first floor of her home. There are 2 rooms and a shared bathroom. Mieke and her son live on the second floor. Our only criticism of this place was the shared bathroom. Another couple was staying there at the same time as us and it was a bit inconvenient sometimes, especially in the morning.

Other than that, our room was very comfortable and beautifully renovated. We stayed in the back room that overlooks Mieke's garden. It was really quiet too. The breakfasts were delicious. This was my partner's first trip to Europe and he developed a love for the traditional continental breakfast here. We enjoyed the variety and there was plenty to eat.

Brugge can be very expensive for food, so ask Mieke for some recommendations of places to go to eat! We joined her on her Pink Bear bike tour of the Damme and really enjoyed the tour. It is very relaxing and an easy ride.

We loved Brugge and enjoyed this accommodation!

We went to Brugges for our 3th anniversary and was an excellent choice.
The B&B is simple but cozy, managed by the owner Mieke, with simple rooms decorated with IKEA style. There are 2 rooms, with a share bathroom, but no problem for us (in fact, there aren't other guests when we stayed).
Our rooms had lovely views to the riverside, where you can see people running, couples walking, and birds singing. The other room has views to the backyard.
The breakfast is good but small.
Ah! We have a small problem to pay in advance (you must made a transfer to Mieke's bank account) and I paid an extra in my bank for an international transaction, so the night cost me a little more than the published rate... that's no Mieke's problem, but take in mind.
