Absolutely wonderful steak - cooked by the owner on a big wood burning fire at the front of the dining room. Good wine - would definitely go again. You need to book though.

It is highly recommended, to avoid that restaurant. On a recent visit to Brugge we had a very disappointed experience in 40 years of travelling all over the world. The staff was not a bid helpful and very unfriendly ( due to the fact it is a tourist town and local folks do not frequent it ) and abrupt. The food served does not correspond what's on offer on the menu and also Michelin prices. When we complained we where told IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT GO SOMEWHERE EL'S AS WE DID but without consuming the food ordered, but still where made to pay, so be aware aware of the attitude in that certain restaurant. We found other places with nice and tasty food and recently priced over 5 days in the town.

This is a very small, unassuming restaurant, with just a few tables in a basic room. The centre piece is the open wood fired grill where you can watch your food being cooked.

The menu is meat basically. I paid 24 euro for a rib steak, which by Bruges standards is pretty average. The quality of the meat was fantastic, it was probably two inches thick and around 12 ounces, an extremely generous portion when served with fries and salad. We asked for medium rare and they came to us perfectly cooked. My only complaint would be that they are very heavily seasoned with a catering style seasoning salt and then a huge amount of black pepper- this was a little overpowering and I feel that the quality if the meat could have spoken for itself with just a little sea salt. A small quibble though that would not put me off returning for what was a great quality meal. We ate just the one course- something I would never ordinarily do, but it was very filling

Visitors should be aware that when the door is closed the restaurant can get very warm! I would recommend a T-shirt!

When we left, the owner/chef popped outside after us to check all had been good, thank us etc, a nice touch.if I ever return to Bruges I would definitely return here.

The food here was fab! Rack of lamb and rib eye steak cooked on the grill to perfection followed by gorgeous creme brûlée.
We had garlic bread to start but def not charged 12 euros for it as in previous review. Couple of beers and boozy coffees came to 113 euros which is great value for Bruges.
Place was packed with a good mix of tourists and friendly locals.
Highly recommend also must visit the pub next door great selection of beer with friendly staff and fab music! Love this street!

Just a few tips before you book: the garlic bread 'while you wait' ended up costing 12 euros, the roasted vegetables are measly and overpriced and they don't appear to do tap water (bottled was 7 euros we found out afterwards).
Four of us had steaks which were pretty good but over seasoned with something out of a large catering jar.
All in all this was a pricey (160 euros) meal for four people for two courses and a couple of drinks each. you could probably do better.
