“Gorgeous Hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2013

This hotel has 3 delightful rooms above the restaurant. Each room is themed, Charlie Chaplin, Marilyn Monroe and James Dean. We had the MM and JD rooms and they were both clean and spacious. The decor was comfortable and include a coffee and tea maker. The bathroom is pristine, although I would suggest adding a shelf for soaps and such in the shower and towel hooks. The bed was a little too firm for me but my husband slept just fine. We enjoyed breakfast, but would have preferred hard boiled rather than soft boiled eggs. I supposed we could have asked, but they were really busy that morning. Excellent location and underground parking was plentiful and easy to access. Staff was friendly as well.

Room Tip: I thought a room in the back would be quieter, but my sister said the front room was very quiet as w...

We really liked this hotel, the only drawback was how hot it got in the room. The hotel is above a restaurant so in order to get to reception you have to walk through the restaurant to the bar in the back to check-in. The staff were very friendly and immediately armed us with a map and tips for what to do when we arrived. The room and bathroom we were given was very spacious. The wifi worked perfectly.

Our only complaint was how hot the room got. There was no AC and the room baked in the sun all afternoon, even though temperatures only reached 24 degrees C that day. We had the window open when we went to sleep, but there was no circulation meaning we had little relief from the heat. We eventually had to close the window due to the noise from the street below us. Overall, a poor night's rest because of how stuffy it was, but I imagine this isn't an issue for most of the year.

The only other thing I found odd was that there were no towel racks or hooks to hang towels in the bathroom, not even for a hand towel. This is such a minor issue but has such an easy fix, I'm not sure why the owners haven't bothered to install any.

Room Tip: If you are staying here in the summer, ask if you can get a room facing away from the sun in the aft...

We stayed at this hotel April 12-14, 2013.

We came in by train from Brussels and walked to the hotel. It was about a 15 minute walk.

To check in you walk through the restaurant and check in at the bar.

We stayed in the Marilyn Monroe room and it was superb. LOVED the room. Floor to ceiling windows with a small terrace that looked out over the street. I am not a light sleeper so the Saturday morning market didn't wake me up. I really enjoyed people watching from the terrace.

The staff was fine. I didn't think the service was exceptional at all - they seemed fairly indifferent. Especially when we said the Internet wasn't working and all we got was a shrug. We tried it several times throughout the first 24 hours and finally went to the restaurant next door and used their Internet ... which luckily we were able to pick up in our bedroom.

It's very expensive for USA residents to have an international mobile phone plan so we depend heavily on wifi when we travel. It would be nice if the staff at the hotel would have made more of an effort to get the Internet working.

All in all - it was a good value, excellent room and a great location for walking all over the city. I wold stay again.

This is a great place with large modern rooms. The management is young and aggressive to make you feel wanted. The Marilyn Monroe overlooks the street. If you are driving this is the place to stay since the front door is about 30' from the elevator from the parking lot below.

We went here in the cold january month and had the time of our lives. It was our first time in bruges but we absolutely loved this hotel. We had the marilyn monroe suite, a large room with several monroe art-pieces on the wall and an awesome bathroom. The people from the restaurant downstairs were the friendliest. We loved this place.

Room Tip: go for the marilyn monroe room!

Staying for the first time in Bruges, is going confusing as so many hotels to choose from. This Hotel is well positioned and you can easily walk in town. All the rooms are themed and we stayed in the "Marilyn Monroe" room. (Jame Dean & Presley are there too!!) The room was beautifully presented and very clean, the bathroom was modern and the only downside for me that was we stayed on a Friday night and about 7 in the morning I could quietly hear all the market traders outside on the 't zand setting up for the morning, but it didnt ruin my stay, just beware if you are a light sleeper. We also ate in the Hotel and the food was faultless, the staff are welcoming and really informative about parking, tourist info etc... Book for dinner though it gets busy and while we were there they were turning people away.

This a really nice place to stay with friendly staff, a nicely laid out room and very modern bathroom. very good breakfast which at 5 euros was a bargain in comparison to most hotels. one the downside: it's small so we probably got lucky getting a room with view of the t'zand (ask for Charlie Chaplin) & they could do with putting in a bigger tv as the 15" CRT in on
stand in the top corner of the room is a test of eyesight
