Yes we made the mistake not to look at the review before we went in , and what a mistake !

I have ordered the Burger and my wife have taken the veg pasta .

I never ever saw something like that , the meat wasn't even close to look like meat and my wife pasta tested worse then the very old tesco basic ready meal .

I'm sure that the people who run the place don't have anything to do with food and I hope that the police will stop this money laundering place ... other wise why those people open a restaurant in the first place.

PLEASE DON'T GO THERE !

We popped in here for a quick coffee and a waffle whilst out touring the streets of Bruges.

We ordered a coffee and waffle and a croque monsieur.

What we has stepped into was apparently a branch of the local cheap supermarket as what arrived was a croque monsieur made from supermarket white bread with 1 slice of wafer thin supermarket ham and supermarket cheese spread with a selection of three different types of cabbage as a side. The waffle was not cooked properly which was surprising as the whole place smelled of delicious waffles until you realise that there is an atomiser machine in the middle of the room pumping out what waffles are supposed to smell like as the staff were not able to do so with the actual waffles.

All of this joy for 18 EUROS.

After seeing some decently priced lunch specials on the board outside, we went into a well decorated, cozy dining room. We ordered our food (2 cheeseburger specials, 1 croque Monsieur special, and 1 soup with "toast") and asked for tap water, as the beverages were very overpriced. The waitress informed us that they do not offer tap water and we must order mineral water for 5 euros. We declined and ordered 2 apple juices (3 euros each) and 2 sodas 2.75 euros each), which came in very small glasses and did not have refills. Our deal of a lunch had suddenly become very expensive. When our food arrived, the cheeseburgers were an odd tan color, but the fries and accompanying salad were fine. The croque Monsieur was just two pieces of white bread with a slice of ham and a slice of cheese, pressed in a panini press. No cheese on top. Certainly not the croque Monsieurs we enjoyed earlier in our trip! Again, the salad and fries were fair. The soup with "toast" turned out to be a second croque Monsieur special with a side of carrot soup (which is not the leek veggie soup we ordered). When we questioned this, we were told this was "soup with toast" , which may have just been a miscommunication or may have been deliberately deceptive, as this cost 10 euros instead of the 4.50 euros were were expecting. It's hard to say. As we ate, we discovered there were 2 hairs in the food. By this time, we were ready to go, but we had not seen our waitress since we ordered. After flagging down another waitress, we sadly spent 45 euros on this sub-par meal. We would recommend avoiding this place if you visit. The food is poor and the prices are terrible.

Caramel falls somewhere in between, it is a small to mid size restaurant. I had dinner here opting for fish and chips, which I admit is not very exotic but it turned out to be more than just fish and chips. The batter on the fish had a hint of curry and the chips were really crisp, the salad fresh and served with a nice dressing; the serve more than adequate. Dining solo, I was welcomed and seated inside at a table near the street, the folding windows were pushed open enabling me to sit and watch the pedestrian traffic. The staff were pleasant and service efficient. Dinner cost E18.50.
