My newly wedded husband and I stayed in The Pand Hotel for our honeymoon in April this year. We booked through the late rooms website and so payed almost half price for the Ralph Lauren suite, which we highly recommend (four poster bed, jacuzzi bath, designer toiletries etc). The hotel is ideally situated in the heart of this beautiful, medieval city, and quite rightly boasts the accolade as being voted one of the most romantic hotels in Europe. It is small and intimate and the staff courteous and discreet, happy to meet your every need. Quietly elegant, furnished with antiques, and with a breakfast room to outshine any in other hotels we have stayed in. The champagne breakfast is in the light breakfast room, at first continental, and then your choice of omelete is cooked right there on the Aga in the far end of the room. Hand embroidered napkins, heart shaped sugar cubes, it was the perfect honeymoon retreat. The only thing against the hotel is that at full price it is quite expensive.

It was a birthday treat from my husband for my 40th birthday and was worth every penny. We had a Ralph Lauren Suite on the top floor - beautiful roof top views. The room was tastefully decorated and bathroom divine.

The staff were courteous and nothing was too much trouble - carrying our bags, helping to park cars, marking out the map of where to visit. We went out for dinner and when we returned our room had been turned down for the night and a weather forecast cards and chocolates left on our pillow.

The hotel was very quiet to sleep in and the breakfast is something to really look forward to. The breakfast staff could not do enough to make sure all the food , drinks (champagne as well) was perfect.

We had coffee and liqueurs on Saturday late evening and read in the lounge. The coffee came with chocolate mousses, pastries, chocolate raisins and maccaroons, delicious, it was a warm and peaceful end to the day.

It is expensive, but worth every penny in mine and my husbands view - we'd definitely book again - please don't be put off by an earlier review - we couldn't disagree more.

We stayed in one of those RL junior suite on the 1st floor. The room we had was not like "suite" at all, it was more like B&B room except bathroom. It was old and a little smelly, had stains on the sofa and carpets, the bed mattless was bent in the middle.

As soon as we went into the room, we found dead fly under the mirror, and some more flies flying in the room. We told the lady"M" at the reception if they have any spray for them, but she said she doesn't know what fly is... she just said"I don't understand what you are talking about...." no appology.... nothing....

We booked for three people, but all the amenities they prepared was for 2 people. towels, toilettlies, bathrobe etc. You would expect from 4 star hotel to give you toothbrush but they charged us 5euro for each toothbrush.

We wanted to have a glass of champagne,so I asked the same reception lady where we can have drinks. She told us to wait at the bar and someone will come to serve us soon. We waited for 10~15mins,no one turned up. so I told her that we are really tired and can't wait any more so i asked to bring them to our room. She just said OK without any apology for wait....even more unconfortably, she sighed audibly when we turned around. I found it extremely rude and offensive to the customer.
15mins later someone brought us a cup of tea which we did not order but not champagne.

Another lady at the reception who took care of our check out was also very unfrendly and
had rather unconfortable attitude.

I did not think this hotel diserve 4 stars and call themself luxury hotel.

Only we enjoyed very much was the breakfast. It was very pleasant and the guy who served us was the only person who had very professional manner and smile in the hotel.

I would definitely go back to Bruges but not to this hotel.

Dear Madam,

maybe you were tired when you arrived at the hotel, for which we have all
understanding and therefor, you were very susceptible.

But you forgot to write in your comment that we "OFFERED" you three glasses
of champagne , because of the ... wedding anniversary of your parents.
We told you that the bar would be open in 2 minutes.
When the champagne was actually offered, you wanted it in your room
together with a cup of tea.
We complied with your wishes immediately.

You must also understand that we cannot avoid a fly coming into your room.
The receptionist immediately proposed you a spray ,which you clearly refused because by that time, the fly was already dead!

Our receptionists speak Dutch, French, English ,Spanish and German and tried
to be very comprehensive with you. We fulfilled all your wishes.
We do our utmost for all our guests and have so many repeated visitors.

Our Ralph Lauren Junior suite was a real piece of art, nice furniture and very well decorated (and even had a 5/5 wifi free connexion). The whole room was really charming, romantic and made us feel more 'at home' than in a 'regular' hotel. Even if the street was close, we didn't heard much noise. The Bubble bath in the bathroom was useful after a day of visiting the city.
Hotel staff was very nice and helpful ( kept our luggage on our last day, called us a taxi, gave us advices for city tour,...) and every evening we found chocolates and a next day weather card.
The breakfast was not that cheap but worth it !!

Our only 'little' disapointment was that the mattress wasn't 'king size' but made of two single.

The RL master suite is one of the nicest rooms I have ever stayed in, ideal for a family with teenagers as it has 2 single beds and a super king size. The bathroom was also excellent with, jucuzzi, seperate shower, sperate WC and 2basins. Excellent central position in Bruges, with own car park and with many restaurants within 100metres. The breakfasts are truly memorable, cooked on the aga and complemtry glass of champagne. This is our second stay at this wonderful hotel; looking forward to the next!

From the moment we arrived at the Pand Hotel (an hour before check in) we were made to feel welcome with a map of the area and some suggested walking routes that would allow us to make the most of the fine weather. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and the recommendations for dinner were just right for us. The hotel is beautifully decorated throughout and has a really personal feel to it. I would highly recommend the Junior Suits, the champagne breakfast and the guided tour of the city that is offered to mid-week visitors.

We have stayed in many great hotels around the world on both business and pleasure over the years and can honestly say that the beautiful Pand Hotel is up there with the very best of them! From the incomparable charm of the building, lobby and exquisite rooms to the fabulous location and service - everything works beautifully and the result is simply superb.

The breakfast freshly prepared on the AGA in front of you is a wonderful start to the day and in the evening once the crowds have left the beautiful city of Bruges the location right in the heart of everything means you can explore in peace and tranquility - returning to your own private residence to sit in the charming lounge and enjoy a drink.

If you are in Bruges - do not bother looking anywhere else - this is the place to stay.
