A lovely hotel in a great location. Our room was extremly clean and staff were polite and helpful. I'd return to The Pand if I was to visit Brugge, again.

This is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Tasteful decor throughout , with a wonderful library to relax in. Superb breakfast too. We'd love to return there sometime and try out the sauna!

We decided to have a weekend away in the run-up to Christmas and thought Bruges was the ideal choice. We looked on the Small Luxury Hotels group website for inspiration and came across the Pand.

The website showed fabulous pictures, talked of champagne breakfasts and a personal service. For this reason we went ahead and booked and we were not disappointed.

Firstly and most importantly for us with taking a 5 month old baby with us, the location - superb, near excellent restaurants, all of the shops and the canals at the end of the road.

Parking - We used the hotels facility, a little expensive but gave us excellent peice of mind and was right by the hotel.

The room - Well like others have said they are compact but then what would you expect in a period building with character. If you wanted a souless large room you would book into a chain hotel. Instead the room was beautifully decorated, with very comfy beds, english tv, very well cleaned and chocolates on your bed every night.

The Breakfast - Delicious, you could get something cheaper in town but this breakfast is a real experience. Eggs cooked to your liking with cheese, mushrooms, tomatoes and bacon made to order on the traditional aga. Topped off with Champagne, fruit, pasteries, cold meat, cereals etc etc. This is a must!

The Room Service - One night our son was so tired we decided to stay in our room so he could sleep. We ordered meals from room service. The menu is a bit limitied but when our pasta Lasagne and Spaghetti bolognaise came i can honestly say its the best we have tasted - better than in Italy!

Children - With having such a young baby you are always worried how they will cope and if the hotel can deal with them. The staff were wonderful, very attentive and helpful. They made a real fuss of our son and made him very welcome.

This hotel is a real find and we will definately be going back.

I was on a business stay in this small luxurious hotel and had a junior suite. I loved 'Het Pand'. Very comfortable room and spacious bath room. Lovely decoration. It is right in the old city, but easy to reach. About 200 meters away there is a cheap public parking garage. Leave you car there instead of in the hotel garage which is 3 times more expensive. Everything you want to see is within walking distance.

Nice hotel spolied by poor management attitude. This is a very pretty old town house, centrally located and convenient. But - as an old house it has been converted and some rooms suffer from the conversion.

Rooms are not well sound proofed and any noise from neighboring rooms is very clearly heard. In our case it was neighbors having very loud sex for a long time. The night porter didn't know the hotel layout and did not know which room the noise came from - in fact there were only two on the floor! The management attitude was one of - what can you do?

A couple of other things to look for - the lift is tiny - two persons and no luggage. Totally unuseable for anyone disabled - the porter had to carry the bags up by hand as one didn't fit!

The stairs are angled with restricted headroom on the upper floors and the top floor fire exit lead to a corridor only 4' high. Not a good place to get out of in an emergency.

One thing to watch out for - the hotel likes to recomend a local restaurant - 'Marie de Borgonde' - avoid this. It is very very expensive and the food poor. There are better restaurants in town. There are loads on boutique hotels springing up in Bruges, it seems every other house is becoming a hotel - you are spoiled for choice - so don't chose this one, you can do better for less or similar money.

The Pand Hotel was a lovely hotel, the staff were attentive and the breakfasts were great, however, the one draw back was the room was extremely small. There was no room for sitting, other than on the bed, and even simple things like tea and coffee were missing. The hotel was very central, however and this did make for a great weekend.

Located in the center of town, this hotel is exceptional. Chocolates placed on the pillows, your sheets are turned down at night, old books and furniture from long ago. Our room was directly over the hotel entrance on the second floor, and the view was cobblestone streets and little Belgian buildings. Breakfast is served in the morning and shouldn't be missed. The staff is very friendly and speak english. The bathroom (sparkling clean!) had lots of marble and a jacuzzi. The hotel absorbed the building next door and renovated it also... this has created a puzzling maze of multiple floors, spiral stairs, twists and turns that are confusing, but cute. We DID find our room time and again, but we never did completely figure out how we got there. :) The elevators are the smallest I've ever seen, just enough room for 2 people and luggage. There is a small bar (I mean small) for a nightcap, and they serve tea. Overall- a beautiful, quaint, cozy hotel with exceptional service. We recommend it highly. Parking may be an issue- check in advance.
