I stayed here in the middle of May 2011 for the weekend and found the hotel very pleasant. The Hotel is in an excellent location and offers good value accommodation with easy access by car with public underground car parking just across the street. Our room was of a good size and clean although dated it had all the comforts required Fridge/Mini Bar, Iron, Hairdryer, Bathroom Products, Safe etc ….. The hotel has a nice bar and garden area which was pleasant for relaxing in prior to going out for the evening. I did not use the pool facilities or the restaurant at the hotel and I am therefore unable to express an opinion. I found the reception staff very helpful at both check in and check out as was the concierge team during my stay. I would recommend the hotel and would certainly stay here again if in Bruges in the future.

My wife and I stayed here for a short Eurostar Break. It is only a short walk from the station and right on the edge of the "Old Town". We only had to walk out the door and across the square to start taking in all Brugge had to offer. The hotel is very comfortable and has all the little extras we like, tea and coffee, room safe etc. It also has an in-ground pool and a fabulous reading room with free wireless internet. Huge choice for breakfast served in a lovely restaurant . The staff all speak English and are very friendly and helpful. Make sure you grab a map while checking in.

Spend the day walking around the town, take your map or you will end up going in circles and be sure to go down all the little laneways and side streets and stop for a coffee or a local beer and watch the people. See if you can find the little Irish bar with a great cellar bar and a Geordie landlord.

Some great places to eat just across the square where you can just have a snack and a local beer or a full meal all at reasonable prices. If you prefer something a little bit cheaper walk along the street from the hotel keeping the square on your right and there are many clean places to select from but not being right in the "Old Town" they are cheaper.

The paddle boat trip to Damme is well worth it and you can walk to the jetty, about 3 klms from the hotel. Spend an hour in Damme and get the boat back and walk along the canal past the windmills.

If you are buying some chocolates, have a look around as there are many shops with different types and prices, but if you are getting chocolate bars, get them from the supermarket as you will save a fair bit of money.

I stayed at the NH Brugges hotel for 5 nights. I wanted something close to everything, but quiet. I had not visited Brugge before, but found the city charming, The hotel was comfortable and easily located. We walked to the square everyday and along the canals sometimes walking with no particular destination. I would recommend a trip to Brugge, however a short weekend is all you really need. To be honest I just wanted to get away, so we added a few days on our long weekend, just to relax. So it was convenient that the hotel has an indoor heated pool. One thing that the hotel had as an option was to use bicycles to get around town and it is a perfect city to see by cycling. I did not use, but it was very tempting, I thought it was a good hotel and would stay again. Only faults were that the housekeeping staff don't pay any attention to the "Do Not Disturb" sign placed on the door.

We booked into the NH Brugge for our wedding anniversary and enjoyed our stay greatly. We chose the hotel as it is within walking distance of the train station along a good pathway and subway under one of the busy main roads. There were road works that we had to negotiate, but otherwise we found the hotel with few problems. It's easy to find on Google Earth/Maps to get your bearings. In all it took us well under 2 hours to get from Brussels airport to the hotel.

The rooms are large, clean and comfortably furnished, with some nice little finishing touches right down to the tapestry and cups. The hallways are very dark (dark wood and dark paint), but the rooms were bright enough on a November day. The interior of the building is comfortable and nicely decorated but little remains of the old monastery's features which are more visible on the outside. There is a pool, but we didn't try it out. Note, the pool is visible to people in reception and those walking to the lift to go to their room.

We arrived on a Saturday and were woken during the night by people shouting outside, which surprised me as our room faced the backstreet rather than the busy front. But despite this we enjoyed going out the next morning to find that there were masses of stalls set up for the Sunday market around the hotel and on the plaza opposite - this may have been the source of the noise during the night. The market was a pleasant start to our weekend and we were amazed by how quickly it was packed up (with not a piece of litter to be seen) just after midday. We had no problems sleeping for the remaining 2 nights.

We didn't eat in the hotel as the breakfast and dinners were quite expensive, though the menu looked gorgeous. So we chose to eat out for every meal. Brugge is a fantastic city for foodies so you really can't go wrong. We were spoiled for choice throughout our 3 nights there.

The NH Brugge is an excellent hotel, with the rooms being very reasonable in price. It is reasonably close to the train and within easy walking distance of all the sights of the central town. I would recommend it to anyone travelling to Brugge for business or pleasure.

Great rooms, excellent price when rooms are on special (about 100 Euro a night) and an easy stroll to all the main sights. The only let down was one staff member who condescendingly refused to provide any restaurant recommendations (we accept that Brugge is a tourist town with lots of restaurants but you would expect atleast a few recommendations from a tourist hotel). Highly recommended if you are happy for a short stroll to the centre of town.

I came to Brugge like many after watching the movie 'In Brugge', and although this hotel isn't right in the heart of the city centre it's just outside which gives it plenty of positives. We were arriving by car so Parking was pivotal to us, the hotel was luckily just opposite a massive underground parking lot which cost us next to nothing, I think it was 8 euros per 24 hours!

Just a short walk and your in the historic heart of Brugge, don't be fooled by the map, this hotel is just a stone throw away from all the main attractions.

My first impression when I walked in was that this was the kind of place you'd want to be in when visiting a place like Brugge. The design was very classic, almost museum-ish to a certain extent, but just right.

The hotel staff were very welcoming and we noticed a great offer that they had on the counter, we were able to upgrade our room to a Twin Double for just 20 euros!

The room was nice and spacious, but the cleanliness was sometimes not perfect. One of the pillows had a strange stain on it, and the carpet wasn't the best it could be. But you would expect that for this kind of design, there wasn't much modernism going on, and the light in the room was not great. But we had two queen size beds and a real cool espresso machine! I'd reckon a little bit of maintenance would really do alot for this place, many aspect of our stay felt quite five star-ish!

The hotel had free wifi in the room, which was brilliant.

All in all I would recommend this for slightly older couples or friends looking for a spacey hotel with a chilled out vibe, the kind of vibe people come to experience in Brugge in the first place!

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in July as our base for visiting Bruges. We couldn't be happier with our decision. We arrived by train from Brussels, and it was a short taxi ride away (cost about 7 euros) to the hotel. As soon as we walked into the hotel, we were impressed by the decor and the surroundings. Our room was ready upon arrival, a lot earlier than official check-in time. Our room was very nicely decorated, and very spacious with a large desk, two armchairs and a small coffee table, the bed was 2 twins pushed together but the overall size seemed to make it a kingsize. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom well equipped with a bathtub and large mirror.

There is an indoor swimming pool onsite at this hotel, as well as a small patio area with a few loungers. We actually did have a change to use both, and it was very nice.

The hotel is a short 10-15 minute walk from the centre of Brugges, so fairly well located. The restaurant is a bit pricey, so we ate elsewhere. Bruges is a beautiful city - be prepared for a lot of walking!
