Recently visited for a long weekend. Hotel is situated in a reasonably quiet area within easy walking distance of the train station and adjacent to the bus station. About 10 mins to central square. Helpful and efficient staff at reception. Booked a superior room on the top floor. Room was spacious with a mini bar, seating area, tea and coffee making facilities and an easy to operate safe. If you have a need to hang a lot of clothes take some hangers of your own as there were not many in the room. There was however somewhere to hang your coat which seems to be a bit unusual in a lot of hotels. We did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food. Small bar area is ideal for a drink or two in the evening. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: 5th floor superior rooms are very nice.

We spent one night in the hotel, 24 hours is as much time as you need to explore the town. The hotel is perfect, a short walk from the station and the town centre. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable, quiet and well equipped including free wifi.
The breakfast buffet was excellent value and beautifully presented.
All in all the perfect well priced spot for a one night stand!

We walked into the NH bruge after a bad experience with another hotel to see if any rooms were available, the receptionist was extremely helpful and took us to see a room before we decided. It was a very large room. well furnished with a very large, very comfortable bed and huge flat screen TV. we were on the 3rd floor overlooking the garden. bathroom was well appointed with instant hot water.
Tea and coffee making facilities are in the room along with a fully stocked minibar.
The breakfast buffet had a huge choice and was constantly being restocked.
All staff were were very helpful.
Ideal location to explore Bruge

I spent one night here in a ground floor twin room. Hotel is a 10 minute walk from train station and 10 mins from the centre of town. I thought the location was great. A bit off the beaten track but still felt very close to everything. The building is beautiful, historic, spacious and well appointed. Everything worked well and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It also seemed good value compared to the other hotels I stayed in in Belgium (110 euros a night for a twin).

Bruges is pretty small and touristy, but lovely. Highlights for me were the river cruise, drinking amazing beers in an 800 year old cellar (Le Trappiste) and eating a fantastic rack of BBQ ribs at Ribs N Beer. People everywhere were friendly. Try and visit Bruges when it's not so busy with tourists.

We stayed at the NH Bruges for one night courtesy of a P+O cruise. It's close to the main railway station and a 10-15 walk from the main square in town. Our Sunday check in was at 11am or so, the receptionist told us that the room wasn't ready and to come back at 3. He did, however let us store our baggage, but in retrospect, the hotel wasn't particularly busy, so I doubt this was the case. It would have been better if we could have gone straight up- this is possible in other hotels I've stayed in.

We wandered round town for a few hours- there are lots of shops open on a Sunday and there was a Carefour Express just across the Square which served up fresh croissants come Monday morning. Come 2.30, we went back and were told we could check in.

The room was spacious and clean- there were tea making facilities cunningly hidden and a large snazzy plasma TV screen, if you like watching mostly foreign channels although Auntie could be found amidst local programming. There was also a mini bar and fridge ( though the beers/pop were at extra cost)

More importantly, the beds and pillows were comfy, although the single beds were a bit of a pain as both of us kept falling down the gap. The bathroom was again, spacious and clean, with some pleasant Orange smelling soap and a warm shower.

After the slightly irritating check in, we went out for dinner, however on finding the restaurant we'd picked was shut, we went back to the hotel to try their room service....only to be told there was no cook working- I presume the Belgium v Russia football match had taken a priority, however the management had neglected to tell any guests, which confirms my view they were far from busy.

The staff were at pains to say this was unusual, not that it helped our view of the hotel, so we found a nearby Italian amongst the hordes of football fans in the T'zand square. Despite their late night partying, we didn't really get much noise or disturbance from them and we both got a good nights sleep.

Some people have pointed out the décor is quite dark and almost gloomy- but this didn't really bother me. The important things the NH does well, but we were let down by the relatively late check in and staffing problems. Come check out- 11am- we were hit with a cheeky 3 euro city tax which had to be paid locally- again other hotels include this in the overall bill.

Overall, the NH is OK, but I felt there were a few little snags which kept it from better marks- 3.5 out of 5 as it stands.

Nice reception area and lounge.
The hallways are long and dark, giving you a strange feeling.
You have to wait a lot for an elevator in the morning.
The breackfast is excelent.
We had a junior suite and it was large, bright and friendly. Even if it faced the square there was no noise.
Some of the other rooms face the inner garden or a roof.
The location is a little far away from central square 7 minutes walk).

Room Tip: Book a junior suite or a room facing the street.
