There was no similarity between our room and images shown on the hotel website. As we were part of an organised tour we may have been allocated the least desirable rooms but in no way was this a 4* hotel or experience.
First impression was of a 'lumpy' bed (image attached) which was beyond description. The bed itself was old, uncomfortable and the linen more grey than white. The bathroom was old and in urgent need of a thorough clean with black mould around the lower tiles. The towels were also a grey colour and so thin they looked years old. The furniture was more than old (but not in a good way), looked like something out of a B & B. An ironing board when requested was delivered with a cotton cover only, no foam underneath! The attendant suggested I use a towel out of the bathroom to stop getting marks from the wire below. All power points were on the ground and when pulling out any electrical cord resulted in the whole skirting board separating from the wall leaving wires exposed. I could go on and on but it is fair to say this was the most disappointing hotel we stayed in over Europe and the UK.

Recently had a long weekend in Bruges, and stayed in the above hotel. Very central for everything, 10 minute walk from the station, and same again to reach the market centre. Room clean, tidy and big. Breakfast very nice worth having within the deal, although could become very samey...
Visited some beautiful tourist spots, and ate and drunk in some very nice restaurants and pubs, watch out for the review on " The Olive Tree", a must visit.

Upon approaching the hotel in the car, my first impression was, this does not look like a 4* hotel, but never judge a book by the cover. It transpires that this hotel was built with the walls of a 17th century monastery, so it's frontage is maybe a bit misleading, but once inside you will find exactly what you would expect of in any 4* hotel.
I found the staff very pleasant and helpful and as they did not have twin bedded rooms for my self and my brother, even though I requested them in the booking, they gave us a free upgrade, to a large room with 2 double beds which were very comfortable.
As we were experiencing a summer heat wave when we visited, the full air condition was very welcome.
Buffet breakfast was not included in our Last Minute.com bookings, but was available if booked the night before at €15 and whist it was OK it was not fantastic with the exception of the delightful coffee.
I would stay here again next time I am in Brugge as it is very close to the City Centre.

Room Tip: Deluxe roomsare large and have twin double beds and normally cost €20 extra per night

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights it was a lovley hotel, big rooms, comfortable beds and seat in the room. We had a lovley view from the room onto the garden. We didnt spend much time in the hotel as only in bruges for the 2 days we were out alot. Hotel is perfect for a weekend break the location is brilliant very close to the square a 5 min walk and away enough to be quiet at night which is it. Also its right near the centrum car park which we parked in from 3pm on friday and left it there untill 10.30 on sunday and it cost about €16-17 which isnt bad for a secure underground a stones throw away from the hotel. You get a ticket when you go in and pay when you leave so didnt have to keep going and paying for parking all the time. We booked though booking.com and got a really good price it was 50% off so really please. We didnt opt for breakfast as it was very pricey and were not massive breakfast eaters so just went and had a coffee elsewhere and had a early lunch instead. The hotel is a bit dated in places and worn but its fine for what it is and the staff are really friendly and helpful. Overall i would definatly visit the hotel again if we visited bruges again in the future.

Booked a weekend in Bruges with a friend via last minute.com, was a very good deal with Eurostar and two nights accom. The hotel is close to the train station, perfect for those travelling via train into Bruges. The setting is lovely, staff were helpful and friendly, rooms well sized and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel is looking a little rundown in parts, thread bare carpets etc, but it was clean and good value (apart from €21 for breakfast!). I would certainly be happy to return if I was in Bruges again. Also, if leaving on a Sunday, inquire about a late checkout as they do this for free if available.

Perfect hotel to visit the city!!
Rooms plenty of space with a comfortable bed.
The breakfast is brilliant with multiple choices, and a special mention to the staff, they put in a higher level the hotel.

This former Sofitel does its best to keep up the standing of those days. Some parts of the hotel seem somewhat outdated or refurnisched in a budget-friendly way. But it is the staff that keeps up the quality. Restaurant and bar are excellent, friendlyness and service is perfect. We like to come back just for the atmosphere and the relation build up with that staff. Location of the hotel is perfect and everything is clean as it shoud be.
