My flight was cancelled to Europe (not going now as impossible to get out due to continuing cancellations) due to the bad weather Northern Europe is experiencing. Bruge was a place I really wanted to go, but now i can't. I Tried to explain this to the Hotel but they did not care. Not only did they not care they would not offer a refund. The only thing i could get them to do, and even that was a mission in itself was to give me a voucher to the hotel that expires in May. What am i going to do with a voucher (in my name) for this hotel in Brugge. I won't be back in Europe for another three years. An unsympathetic, unfriendly hotel. Be warned!

On December 18, 2010, our flight from the U.S. to Europe was canceled due to bad weather. All of the other hotels on our trip were accommodating in refunding our credit card due to this being out of our control; EXCEPT this hotel. We were offered a voucher only for their hotel, but since we hardly get the chance to go to Europe, we consider this a financial loss. Travelers wishing to stay here be warned of this! Based on this experience this hotel doesn't seem to pride themselves on customer service.

This is a spacious hotel with a very friendly staff. One individual at the front desk arduously helped us try to find an authentic Belgian waffle post-8pm. Typically not a feat, but since many cafes closed at 6pm, it was very difficult. I had a pleasant stay here and consequently have no remarkable complaints.

The hotel has rather old European atmosphere -- which many fellow travelers may enjoy. You'll immediately note the armory in the lobby.

PROS
1. Good location and across the street from many restaurants. Bruges is a small city so practically everything is walking distance away.
2. Spacious rooms
3. Excellent breakfast buffet (NB: It seems the hotel takes into account the American palette)

The hotel was fine in most part - clean, friendly efficient staff, good location and nice bar. However, we found the 'hammam' or spa rather disappointing as it was no bigger than a cupboard with room for 3 people and would have been particularly unpleasant to sit in with a stranger. Also the decor of the hotel room was disappointing and not at all like the photos posted. It looked like a 90s business hotel with pale bleached pine and a very dated bathroom. The toiletries on offer were also fairly cheap and smelt awful. It was not the special hotel you would hope for in such a romantic place. The minibar was also extortionate.

Firstly, Brugge is an amazing city 5/5!

The hotel is excellent, staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms were excellent with everything you expect from a high standard hotel.

The hotel has a bar which was great for watching the world cup (especially when the Dutch were playing) swimming pool was good but watch out for floating bandaids, the gym was no good.

Breakfast spread was good but not worth the flat rate of €80pp especially if you only have fruit salad! do not eat at the hotel as Brugge has some amazing restaurants with amazing flavors and they are only a short walk away.

The city felt very safe with very friendly locals.

Free WiFi allocated in 30 minute blocks.

Stayed here with our teenage son on 28 & 29 October. Upgraded to comfortable rooms with luxurious beds.

Regrettably room heating (which seems to involve separate equipment mounted in the ceiling of each room) was not working. This was fixed for one of our rooms for the second night. In the other room we had no heating for two nights - which meant the room was chilly as there was a cold easterly wind outside. Thankfully the bedding kept us warm.

Staff were courteous but we were concerned at lack of action on fixing the problem,

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights. We arrived far to early for the room to be ready, the hotel locked our luggage away and directed us to the very secure underground car park opposite. We dropped the car off and left it here from Sunday morning till Wednesday afternoon and it cost us 27euros.
We were upgraded to a deluxe room, nice and spacious, chairs and coffee table, lots of storage a coffee machine, (didnt like this much though) The biggest most comfortable bed ever !!! Luckily breakfast was served until 10.30, Lots of bread and meats, a few cereals, nice coffee and a few hot choices too along with fruit etc.
Why is the lighting in hotel rooms so rubbish? And no full length mirror in the right place!
Bathroom was spotless, double sink, shower and bath ( mixer taps but powerful enough)
The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the hotel.
Great location, but then Bruges is not huge.
Loved it.
