“Nice place to end the day”
Reviewed 9 July 2013

This hotel is just outside of the city, about a ten min drive by car (you can drive to the train station and park for pretty cheap). It is located down a driveway into the woods. Relaxing, tranquil environment that features an outdoor heated pool. Nice place to end the day. Clean rooms and helpful staff.

I have spent one night per week at the Leonardo Hotel Brugge for several weeks as a stoppover on my way from UK to work in the Netherlands.
I cannot comment on the full services of the hotel as I literally just sleep there. But the rooms are clean and bright with tea/coffee making equipment; also larger room than I would expect at the price.
The reception is friendly and efficient and the surroundings are pleasant.
Would definately recommend for a stay in Brugges.

Well! Spent the afternoon in Brugge and we were stuffed. After having a lovely dinner in the central square we asked out waiter to suggest a decent hotel for the night and he almost laughed at us. Due to the Olympics in London, he said, all the locals have left and are holidaying in Belgium. I found this a bit amusing too until it was bought to our attention that ALL the hotels were booked out! After having a chat with one of his colleages, he suggested a budget place a few minutes out of town. We got there and it too was booked out. Now it was getting late and we were tired. I remembered passing a sign just off the highway that looked like a hotel, but it was hard to tell as the place was down a country road and hidden in what appeared to be a private forest. We manged to find it and we were very happy we did. not only did they have a vacancy, but the place was very nice and not at all pricey (considering what was happening in town). The staff were very helpful. Their English was clear and well spoken. the rooms were very nice, clean, and spacious. We had a little trouble seting up our wifi, and the staff were courteous and patient, but we could only use it in the foyer.
If you don't have to stay in town, then this hotel is fabulous.

My wife and I stayed 3 nights at this hotel as part of a National Holidays tour to Belgium. We found the hotel to be situated on the outskirts of Bruges in a woodland setting. The reception area and bar were functional, not an area to sit in comfort. An outside terrace had a seating area, swimming pool and children's play area.
As we had no transport of our own, access to Bruges in the evenings would have to have been by taxi. We understood that the hotel had an arrangement with a taxi company and that the return cost to Bruges was €26. Expensive for two, but reasonable for 4 or more.
Our bedroom was spacious, and had a king size bed and sofa. There were a few cupboards and drawers and a hanging rail with coat hangers. No wardrobe. The room had a flat screen TV, and we were able to watch 3 UK TV channels. The bathroom was of a good size with a basin, bath with shower over and a hair-dryer. The WC was separate from the bathroom.
Breakfast was continental style and there was quite a variety of food available. However some in our party commented that the toaster was very slow, and that on one occasion the part of the scrambled eggs were still frozen. Evening meal was a self service arrangement and the food was in our opinion very good. Good variety and well cooked. We ate as a group of 40+ people and the food and method of service would not be the same for individually booked guests at the hotel.
Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Leonardo. We would recommend the hotel for anyone visiting the Bruges area for a few days.

Just come back from a 3 night stay its a perfect place to stay if your travelling by car it's not far from the town and you can find car parks in town easily. The hotel itself is nice and clean the bar and restaurant do good food at a decent price. The rooms are a good size clean and you can't hear the road too much in the room we stayed in. Overall I would recommended this hotel for a driving hol.

positives -decent 3 star hotel, small restaurant , good sized bar..
play area for kids, open pool -not really usable most of the year.. in a woodland like area, surrounded by dual carriageways.. good car park, fair european breakfast , good sized rooms for Europe.Perhaps ideal if driving with own car .service was above verage.
negatives- way out of town -sixteen euros by taxi each way from town that adds to 32 euros daily to costs..( discount voucher from hotel costs 26 euros return).
contents of B'fast including quality of frankfurter/ bacon etc could be better.., room service could have better communication with reception to note numbers staying in room eg familyof 4 and provide adequate towel numbers, Towels -thin and rough, stairways must be cleared -still have laminate flooring bundles of builders materials lying about...

would I stay again-probably not if not driving ..

Room Tip: get a room facing gardens -not the motorway or car park

This hotel outside Bruges has a ok price picture but that's it. In total this does not feel like a 3 star place. We visited for 2 nights and for the sake of the Leonardo hotel chain I hope this is the worst one. The eighties building is update on the inside but still not fresh. Our non smoking room smelled smoke and where there used to be a cooler there was a broken door. The bedsofa for the kids missed slats...On photos the children playground looks ok but in reality not a place that is well taken care of. There are soo many hotels in and around Bruges, the next time we will go elsewhere.
