“70's decor and lack of service”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 June 2014

We booked into this hotel as part of a trip into the low countries for its convenient location near Bruges. The website gave no warning of what was to come.
We were booked into adjoining rooms as requested but the hotel reception had no idea how wide the inter-connecting door was or whether our son's wheelchair would fit through it - it didn't.
The carpet in one room had a huge vomit stain on it. When we got the manager up to show him, his first words were "This needs to be shampoo cleaned but the cleaning staff have gone now so I don't know what to do!" I nearly went mad at this point but requested that he put us in a different room, which he duly did. Great, we thought, problems sorted. Not a chance.
We hung up a breakfast request on the door to one room and took the other to reception to guarantee that we got some food first thing in the morning as we wanted to make an early start. We have had issues with hotels in the past not collecting these requests and so it proved again. Good job I woke up early to check and they had not collected it. So I phoned through to reception and the night staff apologised saying that they had missed our rooms on their rounds at 4am - sorry but it was there from 9pm an we were the rooms closest to the reception desk! So one breakfast tray arrived with many apologies but the other one didn't. Another phone call through to reception where we had personally handed the form the night before - they had lost it and offered to go to the kitchen to look for it! No we wanted the other breakfast tray! 10 minutes later I had to go into the kitchens to find out what was going on and they were still looking for the form! By this point I had had enough. I said hat we didn't want the breakfast any more. We did get the first tray for free in the end but it was not the point.

Room Tip: There are better hotels in the centre of Bruges but more expensive. Make sure you double check on t...

We stayed for 3 days in May '14. A little bit away from the centre, but shouldn't be a problem if you are driving. Rooms were good spaced. Shower sometimes run water too hot while in the use intermittently otherwise good bathrooms. Space outside the restaurant for kids to play. Couldn't use the pool as it was shut quoting bad weather - not sure what's the link. Breakfast options were good. Overall, a decent 3* hotel. Staff at reception & restaurant were helpful as much as they could. If I drive to Belgium , I won't hesitate to stop by again. If am not driving will look out something close to the centrum.

Stayed here for one night while seeing Bruges. Was under the impression it was slightly closer to town. Booked through hotels.com and now I know why there is no pictures of the outside posted. This hotel is secluded in a beautiful garden area, so that's a plus. But still not close to downtown. They offer can services and shuttles. The drive is about 10 min. The room was ok, not great, we didn't spend much time there. The one thing that really made my stay better was the service. The front desk is very helpful, and found my wallet outside in the parking lot when I came in. The gentlemen called my room and brought it up! I had no idea it was even lost! Thank you so much!!

We stayed here after a long drive from Italy. The room was clean and bed comfortable. We ate at the hotel restaurant and the quality was excellent. The staff were helpful and speak English.
Breakfast was plentiful.

Room Tip: All rooms are the same.

Very nice welcome, staff speaks French (Amost all French speaking tourists think that everyone in Belgium does speak French - WRONG! Especially in Flandres!) Nice hotel, free parking onsite and easy access to town BUT you have to take car. Hotel staff tells you to park at station which is 3.50euro for 24h and there is a free bus to town (again, you have to get a ticket from the booth showing your car park ticket, don't just hop on a bus with the car park receipt, get a ticket first!)
It was a return visit so we knew all that.
Buffet breakfast is excellent but stay away from bacon and eggs, stick to continental or ham/cheese sandwich.
Good night sleep, good bathroom, separate toilet. Will return again as Bruges is such a brilliant place to go!

I was driviong from the North of England to Hannover and wanted somewhere halfway to break the journey. The Leonardo in Brugge was in the perfect location just off the main road.
The room was adequate and very clean. There had obviously beed a water leak in the toilet from the room above. The repair was a little temporary, they had stripped off the walpaper and painted the bare wall. Hotel even though very claen looks like it could do with a bit of money spending on it. Having said that it is good value for money and the staff are wonderful. I had a meal in the restaurant which was excellent and exceeded my expectations. On Sunday morning I wanted and early start and was surprised that they serve breakfast from 06.30hrs on a Sunday.
A little way outside Brugge so if you want to spend time sightseeing then this might not be perfect for you, however it is a little oasis of quiet with a very very slight bit of noise from the nearby main road.

Only if you have a car. It is close to the motorway and not really all that swish, but neither is it all that expensive for Bruges. That said the rooms are fine and clean and the breakfast is as good as you will find in most hotels. Staff were efficient. We only stayed here because it was a last minute decision and we couldn't find anywhere more central. If circumstances were the same i suppose we would stay here again.
