What an amazing meal. Went here based on feedback from Trip advisor reviews and thought service may be slow but we could not have been more wrong. The food was amazing - i had pasta with clams - pasta was to die for as were the clams and the amazing sauce. Venison was delicious too. We all had great food, only tiny negaitve was that the plates could have been hotter but it is a minor moan compared to everything else which was fab. As for the service - we are english with no flemish/dutch language skills and the waiter was charming and helpful, explaining the various dishes in a very clear and friendly manner. Service was attentive but not intrusive. There was only one waiter serving but he managed the whole restaurant well and no-one appeared to be waiting or not able to get his attention if they wanted it. Good wine recommendation too made by the waiter. If back in Bruges we will definately make sure we eat here again.

We have eaten at the very best.
You name them-- we were there -- early and often.
Tonight we had a wonderful meal at this wonderful restaurant
with great service and warm welcoming hospitality --
and simply wonderful food of great quality and absolute freshness.
From razor clams right out of the ocean to the sweetest langoustines perfectly cooked to tiny tender baby lamb chops
our meal was as good as a meal gets.
And then
we topped it off with a luscious hot Belgian chocolate soufflé.
We have never had better!
Absolutely World Class!
Do not miss this restaurant
if you know great food and love it!

Nice and small restaurant close to the Burg. We had dinner in the cosy living room on the first floor.
The waiter suggested us to order the same courses: asparagus with Jamón Ibérico, cod with vegetables and to finish crumble with yogurt mousse, vanilla ice-cream and passion fruit. The food was delicious and well cooked.
Everything would have been perfect if we had not waited a long time during our dinner; despite the waiting, I recommend this place!

This is a small and modern little restaurant. Unfortunately the night we were there they only had 1 waiter who had very little time to explain the menu which was written entirely in Flemish!!! When we finally ordered our dinner it was more from watching what other people were eating than his attentiveness.
The chef who did not appear to have any kitchen help prepares each dinner individually so we waited over an hour our food to arrive and by that time had almost finished a bottle of wine. The
food when it did arrive was excellent. Service severely lacking and definitely non very friendly. We did notice that the locals who arrived were treated a little more warmly!!!!

I want to reccomend this restaurant. It is close to The Burg, but it is not a tourist trap. The staff are excellent and the decor is a bit of minimalist modern combined with old beams and ceramic tile.
So, we arrived for our reservation and ordered a drink. The menu was all in Dutch and the waiter patiently walked us through each item. We ordered the Seafood Linguine and the Pâté for appetizers and steak and whitefish for our main course.
The appetizers arrived and we both looked at each other. They were beautiful and large. We described the seafood linguine as "maybe the best linguine pasta we've ever had.". The Pâté was as smooth as butter and I ate it with thick, dark raisin bread. Delicious!!
As we waited for our main course, we realized that we were very full, we were very satisfied and we did not need more food.
The waiter was excellent. He assured us that it was not a problem, his biggest concern that we were unhappy with the service which was distinctly not the case.
The main course was cancelled, we paid 100 Euros for the 72.50 Euro bill and we left relaxed and happy.
This is a terrific place to eat. We were impressed, with the food, the service and the attitude.
I reccomend Lieven as a neat place to eat in Brugge.
