This was one of the best Bed & Breakfast / hotel stays I've ever stayed in. The cottage we had booked were just so cosy, with a roaring fire, THE COMFIEST BED and in a superb quiet location. Close enough to everything but nicely tucked away. Next thing to say is the breakfasts were second to none, we definitely did eat breakfast like kings. Perfect and lovely hosts who were very accommodating. Beautiful, stylish and cosy...didn't want to leave

We took a train from London to Brugge. On the ride we heard French being spoken by most so when we arrived I was certain to great the van (cab) driver with, "Bonjour!" attempting to be polite. Shortly after getting in the van he heard us speaking English and asked me why I had spoken to him in French (it was really quite humorous). Ah Belgium... where you can't be certain what language to choose from but there is a good chance they speak whatever you choose.

We arrived at the front of the home greeted by a home built in 1677 in the Belgian style. It's fantastic. Immediately upon ringing the bell, we heard Seppe. Seppe is a the family dog. A Jack Russel Terrier that is terribly sweet but willing to put on the Jack Russel Terrorist display if you try to take his toys from him. He loves tug of war, or just sitting in the sun and being loved. As a dog owner, I relish the time that I get to pet a dog while we are out travelling. But I digress...

The abodes are separate from the main home. They are set back against the canal and let me say, I found them to be perfect. Each floor is small but in the cozy perfectly sized for a couple way. In the morning when you receive breakfast you'll find a fire lit along with a fantastic meal that is very European with meats, bread, marmalade and yogurt. Up the spiral stairs you'll find a bedroom with a exposed wood constructed ceiling. It's just perfect. Down the spiral twice and you'll find a bathroom. The downside to this is even after a couple of Belgian beers these stairs will require some attention.

The personal details and small touches are really what make this place stand out and shows Tina's professionalism. When we went out in the evening, we would come back to find dessert waiting for us, the radio on, the lights on low and generally felt pampered. We've enjoyed a few great places around the world but Tina's attention to the details stand out as the best for me bar none. She has thought of everything a reasonable person could want. Don't take that as a challenge.

Go and enjoy this fantastic little bed and breakfast. It was a central part of why Brugge is at the top of our list of favorite places.

We arrived in Bruges after 4 days in Amsterdam to find this beautiful and peaceful place to land. The suite that we stayed in was tastefully done and the atmosphere warm and personal. Tine and Luc had many helpful tips on where to eat as well as bicycles on site for zipping around the town. The breakfast was perfect and delivered to the suite along with a morning welcome from Seppe, the very well-behaved Jack Russell Terrier. It was wonderful to come back to the B&B after a day of touring to unwind in the sitting room or out in a private spot right on the canal. We would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a respite from the hustle and bustle of the typical European tour. We hope to come back someday!

We've traveled quite a lot throughout Europe and the States. This B&B ranks at the top! It had such a nice ambience with the fireplace in a private sitting room and a bedroom loft overlooking a canal. Our first morning we woke up to a fire and a huge delicious breakfast brought into our room, complete with Seppe (a friendly adorable pup)! Tinne and Luke were so amenable to all of our needs and gave us excellent suggestions for restaurants and places to visit. I would definitely come back and stay here and recommend it to all of my friends!!! We stayed for 4 nites, Oct 2013, and enjoyed everyone of them. We rarely spend time in the room but even came back in the afternoon for a beer in front of our fire!

Room Tip: There are only 2 suites. Both have their own special amenities but I prefer the one on the left. Bat...

I haven't experienced hospitality quite like this in a long time, if ever. Tine at the Canal Deluxe was incredibly kind, thoughtful and generous as a host. The B&B suites she runs are immaculate, stunning rooms. All the details have been considered and the little touches - like coming in and lighting the fire every morning, then serving a wonderful breakfast - were magic.

For Tine, providing this level of comfort is a given. For me, it was truly five stars.

This is a very cute Bed & Breakfast. It's in the historic Bruges downtown, just a few blocks from the main plaza. I actually liked the fact that it was not near the main plaza, because it meant that the area around the hotel was much quieter, although it was still a very quaint street.

The main B&B building is a nice old stone building across the street from the St Jacob's church. A very cute garden separates the main building from the carriage house, which houses the two junior suites with the canal view.

Our suite was on three floors: the sitting area at the garden level; the bathroom, one level down; and the bedroom on the top floor, one level up. The access to the canal is off the bathroom. The carriage house is very nice: exposed stone walls, antique replica decoration. The room is not for people with difficulty climbing stairs though: they are very steep and there is no elevator.

Room Tip: I slept in the Junior Suite with the Canal View, which I recommend. I do not know about the other r...
