“good hotel with friendly staff and great breakfast”
Reviewed 8 February 2012

My father in law stayed in this hotel for the second time last year. He is Colombian, and comes here with the family to visit my wife and I. Because we don't have the space for them, we chose this hotel, and we didn't choose wrong!!!

The hotel is nicely located in the city center, but just outside of the bussy streets. You can easely walk everywhere (just the station is a little far away for walking, so a bus or taxi would be your best bet here).

The rooms are spacious and very well kept. My wife and I were allowed to join in for breakfast, no questions asked. If I come by car I am allowed to park there free of charge and the staff even remembered me when we came back a few months later.

I highly recomand this hotel, as you will not be dissapointed with your stay. The only downside is that the parking is kinda small, and at times it's hard to get in or out....but for the rest well worth it!!!!

Stayed here for just one night. So easy to get to from England - just an hour's drive from The Shuttle at Calais. Turn off at J8 and follow the hotels directions! Car parking is slightly limited and they charge €17pd which they don't tell you about. The hotel is no longer part of the Best Western chain. Lovely entrance, beautiful tiles around the fireplace and look out for the swans going up the staircase. Our room was small, but well appointed, good bathroom and water pressure, and nice toiletries. The bar was good too. Very easy to walk to the centre of Bruges, literally a couple of minutes. Great breakfast included in the morning - obviously used to catering to Brits as it offered bacon and eggs instead of the usual croissant. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

This beautiful hotel is superbly positioned, is of a very high standard and with excellent rooms and communal areas.

Breakfast was superb in a very beautiful breakfast room.

Swam in the pool every morning-small but really lovely in the basement with stone arches.

Brilliantly located for centre of Bruges. perfect if arriving by train (as we did)

Staff excellent.

We stayed between Christmas and new year and had a great stay. Breakfast had a good choice. We were in the annexe which was fine. Our window practically looked onto the street but this caused no issues. Clean comfortable room and friendly staff.

We've just arrived back from a fantastic weekend in Bruges. The occasion was a 50th birthday trip with my cousin Kev and his pals. We travelled by Eurostar from St Pancras, what a great experience it was.

The hotel is located right in the centre of historic Bruges, just a short walk to one of the many squares with their amazing buildings, bars and restaurants. It is a very old building but restored and maintained to very high standards, its full of surprises especially the pool and sauna.

Don't forget the chocolateirs or the horse drawn carriages either they are pure romance.

Weather very cold, but wrap up warm and enjoy an amazing trip which can have whatever you want - we agreed a balance between culture, beer and chocolate!

Great place, great town and great company.

Have fun....

We stayed for 3 nights from 20/01/2012. The hotel is just a couple of mins stroll from the main square. The hotel looks lovely from the outside and is lovely on the inside.
Our twin room was huge, the beds very comfortable and the bathroom was big and also very clean. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was very good and served until 11am at weekend/10.30 mid week, so you can have a lie in if you want.
We used the Wellness Centre in the basement of the hotel, the gym was good, it had one of each of the main pieces of equipment you would expect in a gym. The pool wasn't big enough to swim but was nice if you just fancy a dip in it, the water was a little cool but using the sauna afterwards was nice.

This is our preferred hotel in Bruges. Just far enough from the centre to avoid the noise but a short walk to charming tourist attractions and historic buildings. Recommend the restaurants but some of the great ones are closed during the week in the winter.

Room Tip: Try for the ones at the back as there could be road noise until 11:00pm
