“Great break in Bruges”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 April 2012

We spent three nights in the Navarra hotel and were very pleased with our stay in all respects. Reception was efficient and friendly at all times. The Breakfasts were very good and the staff on duty most helpful. Our room was at the rear of the hotel overlooking the small garden. It was very quiet and there was no noise intrusion from neighbouring rooms even though the hotel was fairly full.
The location is fine for exploring the city being 2-3 mins walk from the Markt. We were on a special 3nights-for-2 deal so the pricing was very good for a 4* hotel. From our experience we would be happy to recommend Navarra.
Note: there is no restaurant in the hotel for evening meals but they have a list of recommended restaurants in Bruges. We tried one (Pieter Purbus) and found it very good in the lower mid price-range.

Room Tip: Overheard one visitor saying room in the Annexe near the road was noisy - avoid rooms in the Annexe

Stayed for 3 nights. Excellent breakfast and service. Location is very good with a short 200 metre walk to the main square. Parking close by available at the Biekopf. Will stay again.

Great hotel, if / when we return to Bruges would always stay there. It's in anexcellent location 5 minutes from the market square.
The staff are very friendly & helpful. The breakfast had a good choice of continental fare. The fresh fruit was excellent, the bowl was continually being refreshed. The hot choices didn't look so appetising, with fatty, greasy bacon & scrambled eggs that looked a bit tired, as were the baked beans. However, with so much other food available, it was easy to find plenty to eat.

As some have mentioned the rooms are not large, but they are well appointed & very clean, it's worth requesting a room in the main building at the rear of the hotel as they are away from the road. The hotel is a bit like a maze, be prepared for a bit of a hike to some of the rooms.

The hotel bar opens at 15:30 & we were surprised to find that it was one of the cheapest places to get a drink, even bars away from the square charged more. On a sunny afternoon it is very pleasant in the small garden at the rear of the hotel with a drink of your choice.

The car parking at the hotel is pricey, 17 euros per day, I enjoy a walk & paid just 3.50 per day at the centrum car park near the station. It's about a 20 minute walk & we were told that it is secure. There is another car park close to the hotel, I think that was about 8 euros per day.

All in all we really enjoyed our stay at the Navarra & would definately recommend it.

Room Tip: Rooms in the main building at the rear are quieter.

Idea location for exploring the beautiful town of Bruges. Our room was clean and well appointed and all the staff were friendly and helpful. We will certainly be going again.

One of the best hotels we have stayed in whilst visiting many european cities. The rooms were lovely in decor and most importantly clean. The rooms were not overly large but had plenty of room and the bathrooms were well equipped and the decor was not basic.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, even trying to find us a pub with our local football team on tv!! The breakfast is one of the best i have had. They catered for everyone and there was plenty to choose from.
Swimming pool was in a nice ambient den, although a shame it wasnt a little bigger but nice all the same.
Location wise, it could not have been better, slightly off the centre so not overly busy and about a 300metre walk from the square. Parking at the hotel was easy and appeared safe.

Room Tip: we had a room on the rear so no traffic noise

We picked this hotel at random and right from the outset, there was a warm welcome and throughout our stay. The majority of the staff speak english. We had a standard room which was a good size, had air conditioning and was very clean and well decorated.
Every day when we returned to the room, it had been cleaned and fresh towels put in place.
The breakfasts with a choice of hot and cold food are excellent. I stop in Marriott Hotels frequently for business (4 and 5 star) and the breakfasts at the Navarra are even better! The rest of the hotel is very elegantly furnished and there is a small jaz bar. Centrally located, it is just a few minutes walk from the main market square and the shops.
We would not hesitate in staying in this hotel again.

On arrival very polite and helpful staff who spoke very good english. Rooms very clean and good size for a couple staying a few days.
Breakfast very good and plenty of it and very fresh. Each night swimming pool and sauna used both of which were very clean and relaxing. For anybody wanting to stay in Bruges this is an ideal centrally located hotel.
