“over priced if not illegally priced”
Reviewed 7 October 2013

Let's start by saying I owned and operated my own hotel. This might make me a little more critical then others. In this case, it was also a one night stay and on a Saturday in a very busy city Brugge. As a matter of fact Hotel Navarra was the only hotel on both tripadvisor or booking.com had any rooms available (maybe because frequent travelers like myself don't go back). But I got a room and here is my experiences.
Arrived on foot as we were told the hotel had no parking. When I arrived I asked if I could go and get my car because they DID have a parking lot!!! Their answer "we cannot guarantee you a parking spot" (this while there were plenty of spaces available - they refused to reserve one) Next we were shown our room. It was so small even the person who showed room 166 to us seemed embarrassed. It was about the same size as we had had the night before but that was for $65 not $200 a night - in my opinion this was a grossly overvalued room not a 4 star in any way but like a clean 3 star and about $100 per night over priced. Sleep quality is individual and will not comment on. It was clean. But my overall opinion of the room is it was used for employees and should not be used for anyone paying $200. The small bathroom had a bath perfect for my 4.11 foot wife but no way could I (5.10) use it. To make matters worse you have to climb over the bar of the bath to use the shower and this is simply "dangerous". But the next problem I had when I checked on the wall where the maximum prices are required to be shown. Sure enough Navarra was allowed to charge $200 for the room. BUT the maximum price for the breakfast was supposed to be no more then $17 but when we checked in and asked if we wanted breakfast they asked $27. In the hotel business in my country, this is illegal. Plain and simple. And when checking out I asked about this price of breakfast the man at the front desk tried to explain it that it was for people who had reservations. If you like this kind of service and quality you will love Navarra

All in all a very overpriced and disappointing hotel and I at least cannot recommend this hotel for anyone unless they want to get ripped off for a good location

Room Tip: In Europe always check the price on the wall with the price you are paying. It avoids many potentia...

Easy to find with the sat nav. Parking was good as we could leave the car and walk everywhere. It is a historical monument, fascinating history. Room was large and very modern bathroom .really comfortable beds and helpful staff. Perfect location for centre which has loads of places to eat from snacks to top rate restaurants. With 86 chocolate shops in Bruges what more do you want.

Enjoyed a 4 night stay recently and found the location fine. 15 Euro taxi drive from the train station. 150 yards from the Towns main square and major shopping streets. Good quality clean rooms with a nice Jazz bar for that final nightcap. The breakfast is ok but we found a lovely little tea room a 5 minute stroll away.(turn right out of the hotel and walk to the square, turn left at the square and left again after 50 yards and the tea house is on your right) it's called Prestige. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and knowledgeable. A very good hotel for a short break which is ideal for all locations.

Friendly, helpful staff, good-sized rooms and very good breakfasts. The gym is reasonably equipped and the pool is nice.
It's 2 minutes from The Markt (the main square with the famous Belfry Tower).
The noise from the street (cobblestones) means that you can't sleep with the windows open so it's quite hot in the room.

Room Tip: I'm not sure if you can specify a room away from the street, but if you can, do it.

A really good hotel - very close to the Market Square and all of the other 'interesting bits' of Bruges - and there really are a lot of these. Our room (305) was a bit on the small side - but that is the only slight niggle with this hotel - there was sufficient hanging / drawer space - the bed was comfortable - all of the bathroom bits worked well - the staff were attentive and friendly - and the breakfast was really very good - an excellent selection of both hot and cold food - with really good fresh bread rolls.
Highly recommended - we would certainly stay here again if we were ever to return to Bruges

Just back from this lovely historic hotel, located about 5 mins walk from the main square (Think 'In Bruges') we travelled with our daughter and had a triple room which was enormous, never before have we found a hotel room this size in a European city. I recommend pre ordering breakfast as it really is good and lots cheaper. The only negative is the fact that I feel housekeeping was a bit lacking, we stayed three nights and our beds were made in such an untidy manner and the bathroom was not cleaned properly, I felt it needed to be noted. This however, is a very clean hotel, so please don't be put off. Just lazy staff on duty when we were there? I didn't see any of them so will leave that to management to deal with.
This is an expensive city, almost everything is dearer than UK so be aware, also, the restaurants everywhere have the same menu so if you're a vegetarian bring a packed lunch/dinner! They do love their meat! The hotel is approx 10 mins by taxi from the train station and costs about 11 euros and if you, like us you get your timings wrong, a taxi to Brussels Midi Train station is €175 (we almost missed our Eurostar connection) that is another review and I promise an exceptionally good one! All in all a good hotel.

Dear guest, thank you very much for your review via Tripadvisor.
A score of 4/5 is not bad ... but can always be better. It is clear that we missed a 5 score thanks to a lack in our housekeeping department. Please accept our sincerest apologies. We will discuss this issue with the housekeeping manger in order to fullfill all guests expectations.
Nevertheless, we wish to thank you in name of the whole staff to recommand our hotel!

A lovely, friendly hotel with helpful staff.

Excellent buffet breakfast consisting of tea, coffee, juices, various breads, cheese, ham and cooked fayre.

Rooms well equipped with free Wi-Fi and beds very comfortable.

Prime location for city centre and even though fairly near a main road, not at all noisy.

Thank you especially for the very kind person who left me peppermint tea for the tea making facilities in the room.

Will certainly stay there again when we return to Bruges.

Room Tip: Room comfortable.
