Great location, very unique hotel. Right on the walking tour of Bruges, very nice stay overall. Room was mulitple story with loft bedroom, beams on ceiling were a nice touch. We got the best rate on the Crowne Plaza/Holiday Inn website, couldn't be more pleased with our stay.

Don't bother with breakfast though, its 23 euros. The restaurant closes too early aswell so in summer you can't have a beer or a coffee and enjoy the view of the Burg.

Let's start with the good. The Crowne Plaza is in a fabulous location. It is immediately across from Bruge's gorgeous Burg Square, which also makes it about two blocks (or a covered up mallwalk, if you take the shortcut next to the Cathedral of the Holy Blood) away from Markt Square. This matters, because location can be everything in a vacation, especially if you are traveling with someone who is elderly and disabled, as I was.

But this is worth noting as well: Bruges is very compact indeed, especially for a world tourist destination. As a result, there are a number of well located hotels in the city. Distance to Markt and Burg squares matters, but, even if you are in a wheelchair, there are a number of hotels that will serve you well in terms of location. One among these, for example, in the two star range, would be the Hotel Koffieboontje
, which is also where you will wind up if you need to rent a wheelchair: it is at best 50 meters from Markt Square, just off a small side street.

For those of you who are elderly and/or in need of a wheelchair, the Crowne Plaza will not provide one. You will end up, as I noted, needing a friend to get you one at the Hotel Koffieboontje; the Crowne Plaza will very pointedly not assist you in renting from them, even if you are willing to pay for the privilege. That being said, the Crowne Plaza is wheelchair accessible, although I will note that its door and bell captain services are so understaffed that the door was opened for us just once in all the times we tried getting in, which made getting into the hotel quite difficult.

The rooms are satisfactory and clean, as are the showers. Although the basement of the Crowne Plaza is a tourist attraction in and of itself, I did not have time to see it.

The front desk also serves as the concierge and, like the front door, is understaffed. When I arrived, there were 4 people checking in ahead of me, including several Priority Club Platinum members, whose status was not recognized by the hotel. Only one young man was at work there. Because front deskers are so busy with their primary duties, they are can't be helpful with advice regarding the city or its sights.

The buffet breakfast is solid, if unexceptional. I would recommend it, but keep in mind that Bruges is full of good places to eat, and there are tons of them within just a few blocks.

Although I have pointed out a number of defects, the Crowne Plaza is a solid hotel, particularly if you pay somewhere between 150-200 USD per night for the stay. The $300 a night I paid, however, seemed excessive for the hotel’s level of service.

Great location, good parking under the hotel, big room, big TV with English channels, good bathroom with decent mirrors and lighting. On the downside, breakfast an extra 23 euros per person, so we didn't bother, and bed too hot - foam mattress and polyester duvet/pillows. As for Bruges - we won't be going back. A pretty medieval town turned into a touristy hell. Streets full of chocolate shops and rip-off restaurants and nose to tail tourist boats on the canals resembling a ride at Disneyland.

My wife and I spent 2 nights at this hotel. It was very comfortable, very clean and efficient. Its location is perfect for the "old town" of Brugges. We arrived in Brugges by train so had to taxi tot he hotel - about 12 Euros. The hotel is fairly new and is quiet. We had breakfast when we arrived in the morning - it was good, but expensive. Thereafter it was included in our room cost - best to double check that because it is expensive. Overall Brugges is very expensive - especially eating out. But there is an excellent Irish pub a few feet away from the hotel - come out the front door, face right and walk to the end of the block (in the corner of the square). This is a first class pub with incredible food and very, very reasonably priced - we ate there both nights. Hotel staff were efficient and friendly. The room was very good. Overall an easy 4-star hotel.

We enjoyed our stay in a twin room at the Crowne Brugge. Everything was easy walking distance the air-conditioning was excellent, and it was hot outside. We were pleasantly surprised to find a large room with twin double beds which was exactly as ordered.
check in was efficient, internet was free. Breakfast was more than adequate. Parking was available and a reasonable cost.
